Villainess Review: Marilyn Downey (Medium). Top Story - May 2022.
The second season of Medium had its share of twisted villainesses, and the episode, "Raising Cain," was definitely no exception. The episode began with Allison DuBois dreaming about a teenage boy (shown in a black-and-white documentary-type setting) set to shoot up his high school, and after Allison wakes up, she joins the investigation regarding the abduction of six-year-old Tyler Downey, as Lee Scanlon pointed Allison in the direction of the boy's parents: Marilyn and Paul. Marilyn voiced her apparent failure to prevent her son from being abducted, but meanwhile, we see a garbage bag at a nearby dump that appears to show some form of movement.

What Went Wrong: Predators Swept Out of Playoffs in Dominant Fashion
Since 1980, the postseason chase to the Stanley Cup has consisted of 16 teams, meaning that in order for a team to win the coveted trophy, 15 teams have to be eliminated. Out of those 15 teams, someone has to have the indignity of being the very first team to fall, a terrible cross to bear. In this go-around, that terrible burden ended up going to the Nashville Predators, who were swept out of the opening round by the Colorado Avalanche.

Reviewing Sara Canning's Pair of Munchausen by Proxy Villainesses
I've watched my share of crime shows and thriller films, and I have also followed my share of true crime stories, and in all my years of doing so, the story that always astounds me involves the sinister case of Munchausen by Proxy. Munchausen by Proxy is a different form of the usual Munchausen Syndrome, as the latter usually involves using oneself for attention. In the case of MBP, the person uses others, and the case is often the same: the person brings harm to another person usually for attention.

AEW Women's World Championship Match Set for Double or Nothing
It is hard to believe that All Elite Wrestling's first ever major event, Double or Nothing, took place almost three years ago. The company's launch in 2019 saw four pay-per-views take place before their flagship show, AEW Dynamite, premiered on October 2, 2019. Since then, AEW has become an absolute phenomenon, and fans find themselves getting ready for AEW's fourth annual Double or Nothing event. Part of the event's festivities include an absolute clash for the AEW Women's World Championship between fighting champion Thunder Rosa and ambitious challenger Serena Deeb.

Fallen Angels: When Female Prison Workers Go Bad
So you've most likely been familiar with this current story by now. The news broke over the last weekend of April 2022 that Casey White, a convicted murderer, had gone missing after escaping from a Lauderdale County, Alabama prison. Also missing is one of the prison's jailers, Vicky White (no relation), and like many who heard about this news story when it first hit, I thought, "It may come out that she's in on it." Sure enough, a few days after the news first broke, that's exactly what happened, as it was on Monday, May 2 that we heard the added development that Vicky helped Casey escape from prison.

A Villainous Alliance Brewing Between Doudrop and Nikki A.S.H.?
I cannot help but be stuck on that brief moment that occurred backstage on the latest edition of Raw. A wild and crazy episode saw, among other things, Nikki A.S.H. capture the 24/7 Championship from Dana Brooke backstage, making Nikki the first to have held the Raw Women's Championship, the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship, and the 24/7 title. An angry Dana Brooke ordered her new husband, Reggie, to get her a rematch, which he does, and Dana regains her title once again, after which Dana demanded a divorce after Reggie (yet again) tried to win the title from her.

Top 3 Reasons to Love the Stanley Cup Playoffs
We all really enjoy and drink in the phenomenal late spring/early summer festival known as the Stanley Cup Playoffs, don't we? There are many reasons why we should. The National Hockey League's perennial tournament is the best period of sports on the calendar; it's high-paced, it's chaotic, and most of all, it's nail biting. It's an amazing journey all the way--from the first puck drop of the opening games, to the final moment where the Stanley Cup is awarded.

MLB April 2022 Review
Hard to believe that earlier this year, there was a possibility that we wouldn't have baseball in April. A lockout had enveloped the sport for over three months until things ended up settled, leading to the season starting only a week later than originally planned. The return also brought new wrinkles to the sport: the permanent universal DH, the "ghost runner" extra inning rule ending after this season, nine-inning doubleheader games, and an expanded playoff format that features 12 teams (six in each league) and the best of three Wild Card Series opening the postseason.

Batwoman Cancelled After 3 Seasons
On Friday, April 29, 2022, fans of the Arrowverse were hit with the stunning shocker that The CW cancelled Batwoman after just three seasons on the network. In fact, they also canceled Legends of Tomorrow as well, with the axe coming after seven seasons. I was left stunned by the news, especially since I myself really enjoyed the third season to the point where I even wrote about it on this site. I still remember how excited I was when I learned about Batwoman's Arrowverse debut, which came during the "Elseworlds" crossover in 2018.

Villainess Review: Kadisha Abdullah (Conviction)
One of the many reasons why I enjoyed the 2016-2017 TV season was ABC's series, Conviction. I was sold on this for one reason: Hayley Atwell. It's because of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that I'm a fan of Hayley Atwell; she played Peggy Carter in the MCU's first Captain America film. In this series, Atwell played Hayes Morrison, a former First Daughter who is blackmailed into leading the Conviction Integrity Unit, which investigates possible wrongful conviction, with the position coming after Hayes' arrest for cocaine possession. I really loved this show, and even though five years have passed, I'm still upset that ABC pulled the plug on this show. However, I still have my good memories of that series, including the show's third episode, "Dropping Bombs."
