World Series Game Six: Party Like it's 1995
Here's what I remember about 1995. I was only ten years old. Seinfeld's popularity increased in its time on NBC's Thursday night lineup. Saturday Night Live was celebrating 20 years. The Simpsons' seventh season began with the surprising revelation that baby Maggie Simpson shot Mr. Burns. In the sports world, the Houston Rockets won their second straight NBA championship, the New Jersey Devils won their first of their three Stanley Cups, and Major League Soccer and the WNBA didn't exist yet. Regarding the Atlanta Braves, they won the World Series with a shutout victory in Game Six. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

NFL Week 8 Recap: Rasul Douglas is a Treasure
The month of November has arrived, and with Thanksgiving just a few weeks away, I just want to express how thankful I am that Rasul Douglas is a Green Bay Packer. Week 8 began with a highly important meeting between the Packers and the Arizona Cardinals in Glendale--a game that saw the Packers immensely shorthanded. Not one, not two, but three receivers out, yet the Packers were in control for the entire game, thanks to Aaron Rodgers connecting with Randall Cobb, as well as the tandem of Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon racking up rushing yards. The fourth quarter saw the Packers up 24-21, and Aaron Jones run it in for a touchdown...or so we thought. Replay showed that he was short, and after being stopped at the one on 4th down, the Cardinals took over. Despite their bad starting position, the Cardinals made it within five yards of a game winning touchdown.

World Series Game Five: No Home Runs, No Problem
As a sports fan, I always love when the World Series just happens to coincide with a football Sunday. It brings me back to 2009, when Game Four of that Series between the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies took place in the "City of Brotherly Love," which also hosted an early NFL game between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles. Regarding this Sunday, which was also Halloween, the city of Atlanta was busy, as the Falcons were at home, as well as Game Five of this year's World Series.

World Series Game Four: On the Verge
The Atlanta Braves' first home World Series game in 22 years was a victorious one, and was almost a historic one, as the Braves nearly no-hit the Houston Astros. Even with the no-hit bid gone, the Braves went on to take a 2-1 lead in the Fall Classic, and 24 hours later, the two teams faced off in Game Four.

CFL Week 13 Recap: Two More Playoff Spots Clinched
12 weeks of the CFL season have come and gone, and the push for the playoffs marched on. Entering the final four weeks of the season, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers were the first and only team officially in the playoffs. The defending Grey Cup Champions clinched a spot in Week 11, and Week 12 saw them lock up first place in the West Division, giving them the right to host the West Final on December 5. Regarding Week 13, three teams had a chance to clinch playoff spots and join the Bombers in a quest for the Grey Cup.

Reviewing Every Villainess from Season One of "Just Beyond"
R.L. Stine, you've done it again! The family-friendly horror icon who gave us Goosebumps, Fear Street, The Nightmare Room, and The Haunting Hour now gives us Just Beyond, yet another series of books that has been adapted for the small screen! I remember seeing promos for this and as soon as I saw R.L. Stine's name, I said, "Sign me up!"--Stine creates nothing but gold. On October 13, 2021, the entire first season of Just Beyond hit Disney+, and I finally watched the entire eight episode season last weekend. To no surprise, I loved every episode, as well as all of the twists and turns, and have my fingers crossed that we get a second season.

Villainess Review: Vivian Tyrell (Vampires vs. The Bronx)
I was quickly drawn to Vampires vs. The Bronx when this hit Netflix in October of 2020. You could say that I was sold, and "sold" was the operative word in this film, as a lot of properties in The Bronx were being sold to a real estate group known as Murnau Properties. Among them was a nail salon owned by Becky Perez, who was shown discussing the sale with her last customer, Vivian Tyrell. The deal is made after Vivian leaves, as broker Frank Polidori finalized the sale, but suddenly, Becky is attacked and killed by a vampire! Boy, they weren't lying when they say that realtors are bloodsuckers.

World Series Game Three: Historic Proportions
The city of Atlanta has not had a great sports history. It was in 1966 that the Braves moved for the second and most recent time, relocating from Milwaukee to Atlanta, and it was that same year that the Atlanta Falcons were established. Two years later, Atlanta received the NBA's Hawks, who had previously played in St. Louis for 13 seasons and won a championship in 1958. In 1972, Atlanta joined the NHL with the establishment of the Flames, but after eight disappointing seasons, six playoff appearances, and only two playoff games won, the team relocated to Calgary in 1980, and went on to win the Stanley Cup in 1989. They tried again with the Atlanta Thrashers in 1999, but lasted 11 seasons and only made the playoffs once before moving to Winnipeg and becoming the second Jets team.

World Series Game Two: Astros' Pitching Leads the Way
Game One of the World Series was dominated by the Atlanta Braves' pitching, as well as timely home runs by Jorge Soler and Adam Duvall. For the Houston Astros, they needed to strike back in order to salvage something in the first two games in their park. Game Two started off on the right foot for the Astros; an Alex Bregman sac fly in the first inning to put the Astros up 1-0. The top half of the second inning saw Travis d'Arnaud tie it up with a solo shot; the Braves' third HR of the Series, but after that, the Astros exploded with four runs in their half of the second inning, resulting in a 5-1 lead for the Astros after two innings.

Reviewing Toxic Attraction's Big Night at Halloween Havoc
When Mandy Rose formed the evil faction currently known as Toxic Attraction, I and many fans knew that it would be a matter of time before all three women would be elevated, and elevated quickly. For Mandy, her return to NXT was a breath of fresh air; her split from Sonya Deville resulted in Mandy winning their feud, but after that, nothing much happened for her. Mandy was sent back to NXT this past summer; making her return by watching Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne's matches, before finally forming an alliance. After her loss to Sarray, Mandy led her new allies in attacking not only Sarray, but Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter, officially establishing them as a villainous alliance that was not to be messed with.

World Series Game One: 25 Years in the Making
There is always something about the first game of the World Series. Actually, there's always something about the first game of the World Series, NBA Finals, and the Stanley Cup Final. It's that aura; the feel that this is a definitive and epic end of the season. In the case of the World Series, it's the American League's best versus the National League's best in a battle for all of the marbles. This is the 117th World Series in baseball's modern era, with only 1904 and 1994 not seeing the Fall Classic occur. This year, it's the first-ever Fall Classic meeting between the Houston Astros and the Atlanta Braves.

Two Familicidal Villainesses, Two Countries, Same Motive
I've been a true crime enthusiast for over 20 years, and while I've heard and learned about so many different cases, there is one constant: I haven't heard them all. This fact was proven about a few years back, when I learned about not one, but two similar cases: each involving a divorced woman who suddenly murders her young offspring in a fit of deranged jealousy. Not only are the motive and crime similar, but these crimes were committed in the same year, just two months apart--with one of the few differences being the country of origin.
