Where There's A Will, There's A Way.
A church may as well be an unfamiliar planet at this point. I clutch the pew in front of me, looking down at my father’s casket. Although we’re mere feet away, I could barely make his face out through the fog of unanswered questions between us. As parishioners and guests shake my hand, my brain utters the phrases my lips could never form.

Blackout Curtains
I ask that, tomorrow, the sun rises on a happier me. I ask that the curtains of my room won’t lose their battle with the light again. Instead, when the sun flashlights across the darkness of our planet, searching for whatever it must’ve lost, let it find me, shining back a warmth so real that sunlight will no longer feel alone.
