A Cold Tea on a Hot Night
It was a hot, muggy night in July when they met. Claire had just settled herself in her porch swing with a cold, sweet tea, as was her nightly routine. As she sat and quietly sipped her tea, Claire gazed at the stars and wondered when her life in this little hick town was going to get more exciting.

Distributing Your Own Films & Series (Part 1)
My name is Candice Cain, and I am an independent filmmaker. I own Gemelli Films Incorporated, and independent production company based out of Brookhaven, NY. I made my first film What Happened Last Night in 2015, and it was released at the end of 2016. In 2018, the spin-off series New Dogs, Old Tricks was released. In April 2019, I filmed Ivy & Mistletoe, which was released in 2020. Those three titles are with two different sales agents and distributors. The amount of money that I have been sent for those titles is absolutely laughable. They are with "professional" companies.

The Complete & Utter Idiocy of NYS Contact Tracing
Like many people out there, I've had it with COVID-19. Mind you, I'm fully vaccinated and so is my husband. I know many people that have gotten COVID-19. One family member died of it two weeks ago. In total, I personally know 34 people that have had people die of COVID in their families. I personally know 11 people that died of COVID, including my cousin in August. I'm not a COVID naysayer.

A Horse is a Horse
There is a saying in the entertainment industry that goes, "The hardest type of film to work on is one with animals or children." The reason for this is because kids and animals are, well, unpredictable-- Even when they are trained. (The animals... Not the kids.)

Iago's Origin Story
During the summer of 1996, I lived in Murfreesboro, TN. I was engaged to a guy that didn't really put me first, and ended up being abusive. Fortunately, I was subletting an apartment from local college students. Even though I was engaged, I wasn't included in get-togethers with his friends. I didn't know anyone, and couldn't really make friends while I was there. I was lonely.

Stealing Through Series
Let's face it: The majority of people in the world are law-abiding citizens. We have jobs and families and routines. We abide by the law and respect rules. We do what we are "supposed to do" in our daily lives. However, we can find an escape through watching law-breaking series.

Grandpa, Is that You?
He was sitting by the windows, alone, sipping a cup of coffee and studying the menu. I was early for a conference on Hispanic Excellence in Television at the studio across the street, so I stopped in for some breakfast. We were both alone. I was dressed to impress, wearing a pressed green and black suit. He was comfortable in a wrinkled blue shirt, old tennis shoes and a dull gold band on the ring finger of his weathered left hand. Every now and again, he would push his wire-rimmed glasses up his nose.
