Gas Station Milk Bath
Gas stations: I hate them. I will wait until my tank is on ‘E’ before I will go fill up, not for any political or ideological reasons, nor due to any superstition or laziness, but because when I was nine years old, I was covered head to toe in gasoline outside of a Shell station. Here’s the story… Mom decided today I was on ‘Gas Pump Duty’, a title I was eager, yet hesitant to take on, as she went inside to purchase her two cartons of “Virginia Slims”, as was her bi-weekly tradition. She got started with all the ‘heavy lifting’, pulling in and out the credit card, selecting the grade of gas, and putting the pump into the car, then left me with the simple task of “just holding the handle down without letting go, until it stops”. She even explained how EASY it was; all I had to do was hold onto the handle until it clicks…

Killer Christmas Flicks!
Enjoy! Krampus (2015) I thoroughly enjoyed “Krampus”, which is of course not to be confused with low-budget horror flick “Krampus: The Christmas Devil” (2013), which spawned several sequels, or the other number of short films that have come out in the past decade which all wield the same “Krampus” title (I know you weren’t confused but felt it needed to be mentioned). This movie has everything a non-traditional Christmas movie loving fan could want: a dark (yet ‘jolly’) atmosphere, a great cast that was terrifically directed, awesome special and practical effects, and uhhhh, oh yes, plenty of death! The movie was very reminiscent of early-to-mid 1980’s creature features, and had an ending that unsettling (in the best way). I had no complaints about this film, and it immediately took a place in my favorite ‘non-traditional happy-go-lucky’ Christmas movies list. Definitely check this one out if you have yet to see it.

Ghosts and Goals
In the summer of 2012, something miraculous happened, something I wasn’t expecting nor sought out to do; I shook Bill Murray’s hand. Many people have done it I’m sure, but I wasn’t at a comic book convention or a movie premiere, nor was I in California hoping for a celebrity run-in, or in New York City looking for g-g-g-ghosts! I was at a Taco Cabana in Austin Texas, waiting in line to use the restroom. Along comes another weary traveler searching for a spot to drain, at first I pay no mind, until the old grey-haired man surpassed the line and went straight into the restroom. At first I was appalled, we had all been here waiting- but of course, I wasn’t going to say anything, because – wait a minute… my brain did an automated search through memories and movie databases… that old man looked familiar… THAT WAS BILL MURRAY! I was overcome with joy, so much so I didn’t need to pee anymore (or maybe I just did), I couldn’t wait for him to come back out of the restroom so I could at least tell him I was a fan of his work. About a minute or two later, he comes out of the restroom; I have only seconds to make my move, I’m not sure what to do or say, so I reach my arm out (almost as if to stop him from walking away) “Bill!” I said, “Yes?” He replied calmly. “May I shake your hand sir?” I asked. As he extended his hand to meet mine he said “they’re nice and clean now” and he smirked as we shook hands, and then he walked out of the Taco Cabana and into one of my favorite celebrity run-in moments.
