Unconventional Bedtime Stories
We love stories. Nothing is more important to understand about human nature, and while I’m not a sociologist, an anthropologist, or a psychologist, you don’t have to be a learned student of human nature to know this. You just have to be you, and talk to people, and listen to people. It becomes very clear, very quickly, that we love to tell stories. We tell stories to inform people, about our wants and needs, about our history. We tell stories to entertain and to educate. We tell stories because, in my opinion, we are simply wired to do so.

Running Out
Everything is running out. Make no mistake, the way things are now, the way things have been for several decades, is far better than the way things were, in a world where our forebears took and used and consumed until they turned on one another, and us, their children. Though, to be absolutely fair, they were against us from the beginning. We were born into service, and it was many generations until we even managed to realize that. And by the time that we did, and started to push back, there was very little left. Housing, supplies, power, and according to climate scientists, even time. Pressure mounted, civil instability fomented, and finally, with the appearance of our great Director, war raged, and to the victors, thankfully to us, went the spoils. What little of them remained.

So You Want to Play D&D
Dungeons & Dragons. Everyone knows the name, and it’s becoming more popular. Possibly even mainstream. You can even buy one of a few different starter sets at Target. But for some of us, D&D has been a part of our lives for a long time. I personally have been playing some version of D&D, not to mention other tabletop roleplaying games, since the mid 1980’s, and I can say that it has been a trip watching my life long hobby become more and more recognized. So assuming that with my 30ish years of experience I might have some ideas, I thought I’d put this out to help people who might be interested in trying roleplaying out. Today I want to talk about systems (specifically D&D systems).
