MEMORIAL DAY

Chapter 1 The mile walk from the diner was the typical end to another work day. The neighborhood was quiet and relatively safe compared too much of the world in which I simply didn't allow myself to think. I couldn't grasp the concept of violence and was immune to the feelings of tragedy.
