Centuries ago, in a realm similarly dominated by human governments, a nation ruled by an emperor amidst a civil crisis and warring states. This nation of Mariyuka had been prosperous and peaceful for generations, but feudal castes had slowly deteriorated relations. As a result, entire provinces fell to the abyss of anarchy, while others absolute rule and greed domineered its lower classes. As a result of the oppressive inequality, few lived without a care, but even the lowest ranks of society found a way to survive the brutality of their world.
