The Woman of my Dreams
Jim’s throat was dry and he had a strong desire to cough as he sat at the bar of the smoky tavern. He was not one to spend a lot of time in taverns or bars, but he had just moved into town, his car was still on the trailer behind the moving van and he needed something to eat and drink. This tavern was the closest place, about a mile from his new home, the next place was five miles further down the road.

Super Who?
Much has been written and told about me, but much has also been exaggerated and purposely lied about me. My story is a simple one, even though many have tried to make it so complicated. I did not come to Earth from a distant planet as a small child, I did not grow up in a small town in Kansas. Most of all, I do not have laser beams that come out of my eyes, completely ridiculous.

Under the Lake
“What in the world is happening?” Thought Damien Bridger as he looked out across the frozen pond. He had come to his favorite spot to relax, think, get away from it all and maybe fish. Nothing in his life seemed to be going right and this morning he grabbed a few things and headed for the nearby mountains. Over the past several years, he had found this lake to be the best place to go to clear his head; and he truly needed to be alone for a while. His girlfriend, of three years, had just dumped him for another guy (the other guy happened to be his older brother), and his boss had come up to him just before quitting time yesterday and told him the company has to cut a few jobs and one of those jobs was his.

The Church without a Steeple
Dakotah Farmer was huddled in the dirty root cellar with her father, mother and two younger brothers. Her light brown hair, which she had just cleaned, already had flecks of dirt in it. She couldn’t believe this happened right after she had taken a shower. The wind outside the cellar was blowing hard and the local tornado sirens were sounding. It sounded like a fast moving train outside, only louder.

ZV
Suzy did her best to keep up with her father, as he hiked along the tropical trail. It was not an easy hike for a small ten year old girl, with the large green leaves constantly smacking her in the face as she hiked. This was the first time that her father had brought her along on one of his hikes and she wanted nothing more than to please her father and show him that she could hike as well as any boy.

Bananas
It had been a long day and the steady downpour was not helping. Garrett Stanley had finished last place in the two-mile run at his high school track meet and he was in no mood to see anyone. He was usually one of the faster runners on his team, it was fairly common for him to place with the top three finishers. However, today his legs had cramped up unexpectedly and by the end of the race his legs could barely move.
