The remaining player on the board is no longer on the board he's in our left wall That's TV jargon uh so cam Whitmore headed to the Houston Rockets 20th overall projected lottery pick but perhaps a slide because of an injury concern missed the first seven games of his collegiate career because of a thumb injury he was the Big East freshman of the Year forward averaged 12 half points five rebounds per game back here on the clock Matt norlander and Adam Finkelstein and and we finally have Cam Whitmore coming off the board he can end this awkward weight in The Green Room why the slide for cam Whitmore multitude of factors and what we have here is really one of the more unprecedented slides we've seen in recent NBA draft history I mean Whitmore East had projected lottery pick Whitmore as as recently as a week ago was heavily in the conversation to be going in the top five and really even entering into draft night there were some NBA teams that were curious to see okay was this talk about Whitmore or sliding real or fake and if he's slick did that mean okay he's going to eight or nine he goes all the way to 20. the biggest reasons are he had a really good pro day but ever since then for whatever reason and there's sometimes there's a variety of factors why this can be the case he just did not seem to have a good string of Team workouts and that includes the interview process and then we will see whether or not this actually means something years down the road but I can report in talking to a multitude of League sources and and some that reiterated this in the course of this draft the concerns over his medical with a couple of issues in his lower extremities clearly had an impact and you know Adam I can't help but think that group think might have also played a part here because if as you well know when you talk to NBA guys sometimes if they're really honest with themselves and there's a player and then one team doesn't take them and then team BC and D don't take them then team e might be like well what are we doing here like do we want to be the team that takes them so this could he might have been a victim of that as well because you're higher on them than I am but we both agree he is nowhere near he should be not slotted anywhere near the number 20 Prospect in this class well let's put it this way a week ago when we were trying to project this draft everybody knew what the top three picks was in conventional wisdom was that Houston was debating between amen Thompson and cam Whitmore for the fourth overall pick in the draft now they got them both yeah so this this is an a for Houston and whether or not it works out or not this is more than worth the risk cam Whitmore conservatively is a top 10 talent in this in this class aggressively he's top three top five talent in this class and now you're going to get get a cam Whitmore who comes in with a chip on his shoulder the overlap of explosiveness and sheer power is off the charts not a great shooter in high school but made significant strides at Villanova now he needs accountability who's he going to he's going to play for emeodoka who is one of the most no-nonsense coaches in the NBA we compared cam Whitmore to Jalen Brown in the pre-draft show who's the coach that brought the best out of Jalen Brown email adoka this the real a here this believe it or not I know this is a long night for cam Whitmore this is a good thing for cam Whitmore in the long run if this is a wake-up call and got him going about what it takes to be a professional on an everyday basis gets him in a situation where he's valued it's a good thing for cam Whitman do you feel like in a few years we're going to be looking back at this 2023 NBA draft we're going to say cam Whitmore went 20th overall what the heck happened I don't know if we I actually don't know if we will be expecting that um I think we'll be looking back and we'll be saying yeah Victor lemonama went one obviously that should have happened there and Scoot should have gone too yeah so I think but with Hughes now Adam's points about udoka are extremely well taken Houston has listen I don't know every NBA roster inside and out but I'm just telling you it feels like they are top three in terms of pure athleticism all around like I'm in Thompson and cam Whitmore could prove to be the two most athletic guys to to jump off the court in this in this particular draft so I I agree this is good motivating fuel we will see how he fits into all the pieces there they have at Houston I still I got to be convinced that they're not going to be in the lottery in 24 and 25 and maybe 26 but maybe getting two players at a time they've got to bring in state I know their their big game hunting and free agency they got to bring in stable vets I don't want to call them the G League ignite but you need like the the imeiodoka needs reinforcements with veteran presence in the locker room because you had a lot of young uh impressionable kids that needed to be guided through this process but sheer talent in those young young ages is is really impressive now in Houston but they have to have a veteran presence in that locker room so we we heard that that maybe James Harden would consider going back to Houston would you want James Harden around this young group and I know that's sort of a loaded question but perhaps you sell the idea to him hey we're going to pay you but this is a mentorship role for you as you finish your career because there's a ton of talent in Houston I I don't know if that is honestly the best thing for the franchise yeah at this juncture to bring in someone like Hardin who's going to command the ball as much as he's going to when you really do want to have the opportunity to have your young Talent really grow into something the hardened situation may stymie that overall but Houston is a franchise with a lot of interesting things on the table we will see if they can actually grow into a playoff team in short order

Ocean Gate shouldn't have been doing what it was doing I think that's pretty clear I wish I had been more vocal about that but I think I was unaware that they weren't certified because I wasn't really studying it I wasn't really interested Stockton Rush asked me if I wanted to go out there and dive this season you know I wasn't interested this poor I mean his father and son on Father's Day you know paid half a million dollars to go down on this thing only you know it's just it's just tragic and it's horrific and it's unnecessary and by the way it's not lost on me as as somebody who studied the meaning of Titanic it's it's greater meaning to us you know historically and societally that it's about warnings that were ignored that ship's lying at the bottom of the ocean not because of the nature of its steel or the nature of its compartments but just because of bad seamanship the captain was warned there were icebergs ahead it was a moonless night and he plowed ahead for whatever reason I think there was some greed there was some glory in it he had a he had a boot up his rear from Jay Bruce Ismay to get into New York on time or or early so they'd have a headline which I show in the in the film you know and here we are again and at the same place you know now there's one wrecked line next to the other wreck for the same damn reason search search four days of search they're searching everywhere they're they were running around with their hair on fire the sub was right where it was it was literally on the sea floor below its last known position which is the first place you look in the search is the last known position you don't go running around all over the landscape with planes and Trains and Automobiles searching right it was right where it was when it imploded and I knew that's where they were going to find it we'd never expected to see a scenario like this you know we we may go into hazardous environments like hydrothermal vents or even to a wreck like Titanic or Bismarck or some of the other wreck sites which are dangerous from an entanglement standpoint or a collapse a structural collapse standpoint but you never worry about the vehicle the platform that you're in you know and you certainly don't worry about employ there's never been an implosion of a vehicle with people in it and so I think this I don't want to say a blind side of the community because there was a lot of concern and by the community I mean people who operate subs and build subs for a living there was a lot of concern about this outfit and this sub a lot of concern even to the extent that I wasn't involved in it because I was making Avatar 2 at the time but a lot of them got together and wrote a letter to uh to Ocean Gate and said you have to certify you cannot take people down it's irresponsible and it could lead to catastrophe

The big day has finally arrived and things are about to get interesting with the NBA draft happening tonight not only will teams be welcoming new Young Talent into their organizations but I think quite a few big trades will be going down as well to shake up the league for this video though we'll be sticking to the draft side of things as we're here to present our official draft day mock draft this is how I believe this night will go down based on rumors projections and fit between the player and the team before we start though it turns out a good amount of you watching right now aren't even subscribed to the channel so if you enjoy the content consider hitting the Subscribe Button as not only does it help out a ton but it also very much appreciate it now with that being said let's begin starting things off with the number one pick in the draft the San Antonio Spurs select Victor wembin Yahama from France there should be zero surprises happening at the top when benyama has been pegged as the prize of this draft for over a year and throughout the last year he's has only strengthened that assertion even further wembanyama has an otherworldly combination of size skill and versatility both offensively and defensively and the Spurs are ready to hand him the keys to the kingdom and begin building around him the Spurs have had success drafting big men number one overall and are hoping that Victor can follow in the footsteps of Tim Duncan and David Robinson next up with the second pick the Charlotte Hornets select Brandon Miller from Alabama the Hornets will be the determining factor in quite a bit of action that goes down tonight because a lot of teams have interest in scoot Henderson and with the Blazers exploring trades for their number three pick if he isn't picked by the Hornets here then I think a big trade could go down and based on what I've seen from reports coming out of Hornet's Camp it seems as though they like Miller more than Henderson they like Miller's fit alongside lamello ball much more as a two-way Wing player that dies up and shoots the ball well for from Deep which feels like the safe play because it's hard to imagine a scenario where Miller doesn't find success in their lineup next with the third pick the Portland Trailblazer select scoot Henderson from g-league ignite as I just said the Blazers will be a big Domino that falls tonight if they keep the pick then it seems like Henderson is a lock to be the selection and even if they trade it then whoever they trade with will also more than likely be doing so for a chance to draft Henderson he's reminiscent of guys like John Morant Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook as a quick explosive guard that puts constant pressure on the defense off the dribble attacking the basket while progressing along as a playmaker but he does need to continue working on his three-point shot to take his game to the next level up next with the fourth pick the Houston Rockets select Eamonn Thompson from overtime Elite the Rockets may have been disappointed not to land a top 3 pick but at number four they're still in a good spot to land the best player available who also happens to fit a need of theirs at point guard Eamonn Thompson might be the most athletic player in this year's draft so placing him alongside Jalen Green in the team's backcourt will be very exciting stuff but Eamon also has solid feel for playmaking and is a more natural passer than Kevin Porter Jr who the team previously had running point guard he needs to improve as a shooter but overall there's a lot to like in his game next with the fifth pick the Detroit Pistons select Jairus Walker from Houston the Pistons have a solid young backcourt duo in Kade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey and then they've got a ton of centers vying for minutes as well in their rotation so bringing in Jairus Walker to play power forward alongside whichever big ultimately wins the job could bring a lot of balance to their lineup Walker is a strong and versatile Defender who can switch onto multiple positions he's a willing shooter and a sneakily good passer for a big man and he's got so much room to grow as well up next with the sixth pick the Orlando Magic select Asar Thompson from overtime Elite the magic have depth at point guard on the wings and at Center so the fact that Asar Thompson happens to be the best player available here and he can slot in at their shooting guard spot makes it a really strong match for the magic Asar like his brother Eamon is an incredibly impressive athlete is more of a Score first player though while still demonstrating a willingness to set up his teammates for good looks when they present themselves and he's also been a pretty good defensive player to this point in his career and with good physical tools to work with the magic will love that next up with the seventh pick the Indiana Pacers select Taylor Hendricks from UCF Taylor Hendricks steadily climbed draft boards this year and is now viewed as the most prototypical 3 and D player in this year's class he's a six foot eight wing with a seven foot one inch wingspan he's a terrific shooter of the basketball and he's really Smart in how he moves off the ball and gets himself into positions that set himself up for easy looks the Pacers could use some help defensively and they also need more shooting so adding Hendrix checks both of those boxes up next with the eighth pick the Washington Wizards select Anthony black from Arkansas the Wizards are blowing it up this off season to start fresh and drafting Anthony black gives them a good potential floor General to develop throughout this new process he's a big guard with good size and skill and he makes those around him better simply by setting them up for good looks and making the right play next up at number 9 the Utah Jazz Select cam Whitmore from Villanova Whitmore has the ideal physical tools functional athleticism defensive potential and potential to be a very good Wing player in the NBA but recently teams have reportedly been a bit worried about his medical reports he did struggle with injuries this past season but when he returned to the court he showed off a lot of positives that have had him in the top 10 of mock drafts all year most of the time higher than this so we may see him slip a little bit up next with the 10th pick the Dallas Mavericks select Derek Lively from duke the Mavericks are another team in Prime contention to trade their pick here but even if they keep it Lively is the kind of player they should be targeting interior defense was a huge mess for the Mavericks and Lively is a seven foot one shot blocker with the size and instincts that can easily be tapped into and developed Lively works well in pick and roll action which is great with Luka doncic and potentially Kyrie Irving being there he's a lob threat and he's been reportedly killing it in his pre-draft workouts shooting up draft boards up next with the 11th pick the Orlando Magic select Grady dick from Kansas the magic ranked near the bottom of the league in three-point shooting so drafting dick who may be the best shooter in the class this year would be a very strong addition since they have two lottery picks they can swing at upside with their first one which I have them doing with Asar Thompson then they can take someone with a solidified skill set that they need here to take advantage of both picks in the best way possible next with the 12 pick the Oklahoma City Thunder select below kubale from France cool ballet is actually a teammate of Victor Wen benyama and the more that people tuned into games to scout when benyama the more they realize that Bilal was also a standout Prospect worthy of Lottery hype he's a long and Athletic ball handler and playmaker who is an explosive at The Rim finisher and a very instinctual Defender who makes things happen on that end of the floor at six foot seven with a seven foot three inch wingspan while still having not even turned 19 years old yet he's exactly the type of prospect that the Thunder have become synonymous with Drafting and developing next up with the 13th pick the Toronto Raptors select Cason Wallace from Kentucky the Raptors seem to be starting their rebuild period with Scotty Barnes their primary youngster leading the new wave and if they want to continue to build on their defensive identity then look no further than Wallace who may be the best perimeter defender in the draft class Wallace has been compared to Drew holiday because of how he hounds opposing ball handlers and while he's not quite the offensive threat that holiday is he does provide good balance overall in terms of scoring and play making and finally with the last pick in the lottery the New Orleans Pelicans select Kobe buffkin from Michigan Kobe is another player who has reportedly done very well throughout the pre-draft workout cycle and as a result of it he's gained some fans in the lottery range he gives you scoring defense and versatility with room to grow and his skill set is adaptable in many different situations making him a likely candidate to sneak into Jordan pool's contract was so bad the Warriors had to pay to get rid of it Warriors got Chris Paul Wizard's got Jordan Poole Ryan Hollins a protected 20 31st and a 2027 second pool makes 130 million the next four years for what dude was unplayable in the playoffs warriors were desperate so they paid the Wizards to take it off their hands in exchange they get Chris Paul for one season to try to win a chip but how good of a fit is CP3 we'll explore that but this is a great sign for Draymond Green he and Jordan pool's relationship never recovered one week ago Dre opted out of his final year to become a free agent he could have left for a team of cap space like the Rockets or the Pistons or maybe done a sign and trade now the dubs are saying we love you please come back we have money for you but that punch video being leaked was the best thing ever for Jordan pool dude was embarrassed everyone felt bad for him during extension talks so the Warriors rewarded him with 130 million bucks like hey about the punch we're really sorry here's generational wealth at the same time it was the worst thing for Draymond he became the number one villain in the NBA before Dylan Brooks took over articles guaranteeing he's gonna leave the dubs the video leaking was a punch to the gut like someone in my own building betrayed me to make me look awful but as the season played out Dre showed why he is a future Hall of Famer and pool melted down round one 12 points a game on 26 percent from three round two eight points on 25 from Deep horrible turnovers Warrior fans turned on him faster than the NBA media turned on Russ but in the middle of the Season everything changed the league got together to gang up on the doves for years they have had the biggest payroll in the NBA their owner Joe lakum will pay whatever it takes to surround Steph clay and Draymond with winning players but now the richest teams have gigantic penalties which is a problem for Draymond because they paid Jordan pool and Andrew Wiggins last year did that mean Draymond was gone not anymore Chris Paul makes 30.8 million but it is off the books next summer so now they can afford to keep the core together it's not guaranteed but a lot more likely but how does Chris Paul fit on the Warriors they have point guard depth already Steph Curry at the one with gp2 and Dante divincenzo backing him up Steph actually played point guard a hundred percent of the time last year in fact the last time he played even a third of his minutes at shooting guard his rookie year with Montana Ellis this is gonna be a huge change unless Chris Paul agrees to come off the bench that would be the perfect scenario leading the second unit as a mature high IQ veteran playing against other backups but would CP accept that role he has never come off the bench before he has always been the man on his team and is one of the most vocal leaders in sports but maybe he wants to win a ring that bad so he's willing to be a sixth man but if not playing point guard isn't actually fair to who Steph is I mean he's not a traditional point guard with how often he plays off the ball with a ton of movement I mean Draymond handles the ball and facilitates a lot on this team and they have had traditional point guards in the past especially with cp's low turnovers there is a world where this works or this entire move could be a trick they could be pulling another D'Angelo Russell back in 2019 Kevin Durant tours in Achilles and decided he was tired of winning championships he'd rather team up with his buddy Kyrie and get back to losing like he did in OKC only in Brooklyn and that plan worked out great but the dubs did a silent trade to bring back Dilo and at the time they said oh we love D'Angelo Russell he fits in great here and then they flipped him at the trade deadline Yahoo just reported Golden State will not wave Chris Paul looking forward to partnering with him on a championship run yeah right this whole thing could be about upping his trade value to then deal him at the deadline which is exactly what they did with Dilo and got back Andrew Wiggins now obviously that kind of trade is not realistic with CP but maybe they're trying to get two or maybe three role players back for death so they start the season with Chris Paul while he is healthy good Shooters around him Chris looks great and they flip him for bench help last time and they had a little depth with Otto Porter and Amanda B Eliza they won a chip not that a team trying to win would love Chris Paul but at least his expiring contract looks good A tanking team like the Pistons or the Rockets who might have vets would offload them to the dubs but the underrated thing about this trade for golden state is Ryan Hollins he's a young guy who doesn't really play but he is a spot on their roster that is now freed up for a veteran minimum player who wants to win a ring it's what they did with the Marcus cousins or David West back in the day they are now replacing Ryan Hollins who doesn't play with some vet who can give them a few minutes if they add that with Death From Another Chris Paul trade later this could be a championship winning move but what about the Wizards they have gotten rid of Bradley Beal and Kristoff porzingis in one week and got zero first round picks how is that possible in a world where Rudy gobert goes for control of six first they got more first for CP than Biel and porzingis combined now that's not technically true because Chris Paul is part of the Bradley Beale trade but it's crazy I feel bad for their fans the plan will be to suck for like five years while picking high in the draft then hopefully forever from now they might have some good young players then they'll have to wait years for them to develop so maybe in like 2033 the Wizards could be a contender it's like the process only worse because the odds of getting a top pick are now horrible imagine the Pistons having the worst record in the NBA last year and picking fifth that's the world the Wizards are living in now they do have a decent backcourt with tyus Jones and Jordan Poole but those guys are decent with stars around them especially tyus Jones best assist to turnover ratio in the NBA but that really matters when you have like a John Morant scoring 30. on his own he's like a decent role player that no one pays attention to but we can finally say the two timeline Warriors are dead they tried to set up the future with the present by drafting like a James Wiseman instead of trading the number two pick and it failed now they dealt a 24 year old Jordan pool for a dude who's 39 in next year's playoffs like uh we think we'd be better with a guy who's almost 40. it's a big risk because pool was actually key when Steph and Clay rested in the regular season pool struggled in the playoffs but could still give you 30 On Any Given night when he was the focal point but this is about winning now which will not work Chris gets hurt a ton at this point and even in his prime he's a different guy in big games if they're depending on him in like a Conference finals history says it will fail that's why I think six-man roll makes sense for CP or flipping him again at the deadline it reminds me of the Lakers when people were like oh la has five Hall of Famers but really it was like old Carmelo Anthony Dwight Howard Ross LeBron A.D oh yeah they're Hall of Famers but at this point the production isn't there but we could see more gigantic trades even if zon Williamson is not dealt on draft night the rumors are getting crazy New Orleans really wants scoot Henderson and a report says Zion could be the guy they deal check it out
