Is There Even Such a Thing As 'Wasting Time'?
I finished watching the movie ‘All the Small Things’ on Amazon Prime starring Cillian Murphy. My first thought afterwards was, ‘well that was a waste of time’. Just to note, this is not at all a bad movie, it just wasn’t for me. I’m not into ‘arty’ films, I like clear answers (science brain here), not things that are unsaid or left to interpretation – I’m not smart enough for that. The trailer made it seem way more action packed than it actually was.

Comparison Really is the Thief of Joy
I was journalling last night about what my main issues were that were keeping me up at night. The night before, I’d slept at midnight, despite getting into bed at 10:30 pm just because I was overthinking constantly. I felt all the emotions, resentment, anger, fear, discouraged and dejected. I had some news from work this week about a change in my job title and responsibilities. I realised most of my negative feelings were due to comparison, which has had such a hold on me for far too long.

I Miss Being Bored
When I was 10 years old, one random Saturday I wrote on my calendar 'the most boring day of my life' and circled it three times. I walked around aimlessly, I bounced a ball at the living wall and just whinged to my parents that I was bored. All my friends were busy. It was probably bad weather so I couldn't play outside and I generally felt very down in the dumps and unmotivated. I couldn't wait to get back to school on Monday.

Am I Going Crazy?
The world has gone crazy, and I don't know what to do about it. This has been going on for a while. Billions of pounds were wasted in the pandemic on PPE or contracts to the MP's friends, the cost of living crisis and the war on Ukraine, started by an utter madman (just to name a few).

How I Almost Joined an MLM
I have a mentor that I work with on my career goals, let's call him Sam. Sam is a trusted individual in my life, who I can also call a friend and have a professional relationship with. He’s a sharp guy, big into self-help books and personal and professional development. He often spoke about his ‘business’ that he worked on evenings and weekends, but remained vague when I asked about what it is. I knew he was part of a mentorship group, that he spent a lot of his free time on travelling to London for ‘leadership conferences’ and attended online seminars on personal development. In one of our mentor sessions, I may have expressed an interest in creating some passive income, but still needed to look for ideas.

You Do Not Have the Same Hours in a Day as Beyoncé
During the intro to this The Diary of a CEO podcast episode, Steven Bartlett mentions that 'Molly does not do interviews like this', and we all saw why. This interview had a lot of ups and downs, most notably her tone-deaf comments about her 'hard work' and 'privilege'. Although Molly-Mae is not an influencer I follow, I understand she is an idol for many young girls and I admit she has done very well for herself at the age of 22. However, this interview really got me thinking more about influencer culture, as she is definitely not the first to have made such comments.

The Art of Going Alone
I will always remember the date 21st October 2017. This is when I went to my first concert alone. Concerts, strangely, are not somewhere people normally consider going alone. Well, not at the ripe age of 21 anyways. However, I happened to have booked to see Zara Larsson, whom I was definitely not missing coming to Manchester, and unfortunately did not find anyone else in the end to go with.

She Was Just Walking Home
This is not a women's problem to fix. Sarah Everard went missing on the 3rd March in South London, walking from a friend’s house in Clapham to her home in Brixton. She was kidnapped, and murdered, and her body was found this week.
