The Consequences of Poor Pool Care
As of 2024, a study by RubyHome found there are 10.7 million swimming pools in the U.S. alone, with the average in-ground pool costing around $35,000 to install. And in my area of San Diego and other areas with higher costs of living, that price is easily double that—at minimum. This makes owning a pool a luxury but one that offers endless fun and relaxation and even some envy from your friends and neighbors. However, this envy-worthy luxury comes with the responsibility of regular maintenance to maintain the health and longevity of your pool. Neglecting pool care can lead to a variety of problems, some of which can be very costly to resolve or affect your health. And with the sizeable cost investment pool owners make to have one built, it’s necessary that pool owners know what it takes to maintain them properly.
