It's never too late to change the world
Looking at today's world you'd be right to be worried about the direction that Society and the wider world is getting into. The tensions in Ukraine, the many governments around the world that seem to be backsliding into Autocratic regimes, conspiracy theories causing perfectly rational people to act in completely irrational ways, LGBTQ+ Rights being reversed or limited, The Right to abortion constantly on threat of being taken away, more and more police violence against minorities and Governments being unveiled as un-ashamedly Corrupt. By no means am I an unbridled optimist, but realistically. All of this is symptoms of a wider issue, we, as a Society don't know where to go next. Most periods of Human history can be marked as revolutionarily changed, something happened, something changed. But what do you change when everything is markedly different from how it was 70 years ago?

Worker-Influenced Corporations: The Model that can Achieve growth and fairness to workers
As I mentioned in my previous article, Equality and Growth aren’t mutually exclusive, governments can run economies that incentivise equality through things like welfare, healthcare, education and workplace policy but Businesses can also run various models that have Equality and Democracy at their core. The most well known is the idea of Co-operatives, Co-operatives are businesses in which, the workers who work in business own equal shares in the business and thus vote on how the business operates. Since they own equal shares, they also get an equal kickback on profits assuming they put a dividend structure in place.

In British media and British Political culture you will often hear Conservatives saying that they would prefer that Britain looked more like America in Growth than Swedish “Equality” but these things aren’t mutually exclusive, in fact they’re myth’s perpetuated by those with the most to gain from an American style Growth model.

Business Federations: The Future of Inter-market Co-operation
Depending on where you are, business is either booming into online spaces due to the pandemic or is crumbling due to lack of Online infrastructure, Alternatively, both. The state of Business is in a Multi-faceted shift just now, from the in person store to the Online Marketplace, from the mass pollution to the often Green-washed paper only straws and solar panelled roofs, Business is changing. Whether its for the better, depends on your perspective.

New Scottish Budget Just Dropped
Scotland is a pretty Lowkey country, mainly because it's overshadowed by whatever happens in Westminster in England (and the wider UK). However, Scotland, I believe shouldn't be as Lowkey as it has been. Scotland is setting an example to the rest of the world of how you can be a Green Leader on the World stage despite not being the largest country on the block. The Scottish Budget for 2022-2023 gives insight into what to expect for other government budgets following the pandemic. Somethings included are surprising, but the things not included set an unusual precedent.

Functional Neurological Disorder, The most common Disorder you've never heard of
Functional Neurological Disorder, three words that don't even look like they need to be together. You would immediately think that "Functional Neurology" wouldn't be a disorder. Yes, the name is a bit misleading to the average population but it does make sense. Functional Neurological because the Hardware, eg the Brain, spinal cord, etc is all structurally intact however the Software running on it is broken. In FND, the Software running the persons behaviour, emotions, pain signals, everything is broken. Arguably, the fact that the software, the signals being sent is broken is more frightening. That mean's there is not a Pill, surgery or Therapy that can cure it. But what is it? What does it mean for the Patients?

Esperanto and why it's problematic
Esperanto is a Constructed language, meaning for all intents and purposes, its a "fake" language. In the sense that it carries no culture, religious or Ethno-historical significance with it. It was created much like many constructed languages with the intent of being a Linguistic experiment, an experiment of creating a language that was easier to learn for as many people as possible. It reduced the stress of learning appropriate grammar, syntax, etc. As Esperanto grew into what it is today, it garnered more and more support from Political circles as a possible lingua franca or "bridge language" for the world. However, this concept although a good idea, I personally don't think Esperanto is a good choice, both Historically and practically.

Quakerism, The Religion of Peace and Progress
Who are the Quakers? Quakers, more formally known as the Religious Society of Friends are a Religious group whose roots go back to Anabaptist Christianity similar to that of the Amish and Mennonite Traditions. The Quakers were started by George Fox in 1600s England. Fox was the son of a very puritanical family in Drayton-in-the-clay in the East Midlands. Fox like many Christians of his time was raised on the values of turning the other cheek, pacifism, doing onto others as you would want done to you, loving thy neighbour, etc. But in the days of George Fox, the English Civil War broke out, a horrendous war that drew a line between Catholics and Protestants. Fox was disgusted at the hypocrisy of both sides of the war. On one hand claiming to be peace loving but on the other hand having no issue taking the life of another because of an argument over scripture among other things.
