This book will always be a part of growing up for me. Loved your haiku!
J.D is one of the Goats. Sallinger not Braff. Although, I love the latter also. Hopefully you get that sad joke. Really liked this.
I have not read this book but your Haiku-review is so intriguing and I need to check it out!
Oh, you brought back memories and made me smile. ☺️
I feel like commenting in green ink. A nice little narrative showing some ugly truth that the old know and the young want to deny. :)
When I was in grade school I was mad that this was one of the required readings, then I read it. Changed my whole outlook on the novel. The words that resonated with me at that time were: "...Thousands of little kids and nobodies around..." Great work! Wow!
This could be the difference between passing AP English or not. They'd just need to repeat it a gazillion time, double-spaced, before handing it in.
I'll have to be with Paul and admit that this is one of those books that I...have never read but should! Despite that, the poem has enough content to really strike deeply: for all I know, summarized the entire novel! :)

I've never actually read the book but know enough to know that this is spot on haha! Well done, Ashley!
