30 Books to Read Before You Die (Pt. 35)
It’s been a long journey and yet, there is still a long way to go. I’m really enjoying the way in which these articles are going. Some people have told me that they’ve read certain books and, more importantly, got some good reading material from them. Some people have given me some recommendations, and I’m going to get to those as soon as I can! It’s very important to have a community for reading, and people who support other people reading. I love making friends in the reading community regardless of what you actually read. If you’re enthusiastic and into what you’re reading then that’s enough for me. I love listening to what people are reading and listening to them talk about it with passion and energy, because I always find it fascinating how books can have this kind of impact on our lives.

30 Books to Read Before You Die (Pt. 34)
Well, we've gotten underway and into the thousands now, and yet I'm not really thinking about the end. We've had a lot of fun and a lot of reflection. I've spoken about things like why I don't like GoodReads, the good and bad of bookclubs, reading widely, instead of just one genre, reading academically and about the problematic situations involving the bookstagram culture of Instagram. Needless to say, we've covered a range of topics—but today I want to talk briefly about the books I read for my undergraduate dissertation and why I did so.

30 Books to Read Before You Die (Pt. 33)
Wow, we've actually made it to Part 33 and we're still on our journey. People will ask if I'm planning to do this for as long as I live and well, I don't really know. I guess it'll just end when it ends and because it hasn't ended, well—we're carrying on. Today, we're going to discuss why I don't like book clubs and I'll give you some reasons. Now, I don't have a hatred for them because I know that they help a lot of people by reading a book in a group as opposed to reading it by yourself. For reasons of social meetings, motivation, etc. some people prefer book-club style reading. But here are a few reasons why I don't personally like it.

30 Books to Read Before You Die (Pt. 32)
Now that we're on Part 32, people will normally say. "Haven't you ran out of things to talk about yet?" And my answer is "no." I still have a lot I want to get through, and in this introduction, I'm going to explain to you why I don't like the website GoodReads. Now, there's lots of good things about the website and it helps a lot of people, but personally, I've found it to be a bit boring and a bit of a hinderance to me finding new reading material—it just hasn't helped me much, and here's why.

30 Books to Read Before You Die (Pt. 31)
I feel like we've come a long way since parts one through ten, and well, I still have way more planned for future articles on "30 Books." I hope you're enjoying this as much as I am, and I hope you've gotten at least one new book to read from these articles. Today, we're going to discuss the "bookstagram culture," and why I find some of it a bit problematic. I don't hate the culture (as you know), because I love showing people what I'm reading. But, there are a couple of things that I don't really find very helpful about some surrounding ideas of the "bookstagram." Well, because I love the idea of it, I want to discuss what I think are some of the "cons" behind the Instagram sub-culture.

30 Books to Read Before You Die (Pt. 30)
We require a celebration right about now! Part 30 and still going, we've made it up to number 900, and yet, we have no intention of stopping (I apologise immediately). Anyways, I hope you're enjoying these lists, and as we have approached the milestone of 900—I would like to reflect back on what we've covered.

30 Books to Read Before You Die (Pt. 29)
Part 29 is a pretty big number, we're well into the 800s and I feel like we've covered a lot of what I want to cover. But not all of it. There's something very special about sharing your reading with someone but really, I wanted to tell you the actual reason I started these lists in the first place and why I didn't just make it one long list - though I totally could've at this rate.

30 Books to Read Before You Die (Pt. 28)
It has been quite a ride, but don't think we're just going to finish here just yet. I've told you already about a little celebration I'm going to have when I hit 900 and I have already planned what's going to happen after that and beyond. Let's talk for a bit before we get into the list:

30 Books to Read Before You Die (Pt. 27)
Okay, now we’re getting on. I think a celebration will be in order when we hit the number 900, don’t you? Well, for now, we’re going to celebrate the fact that we’ve just gotten past the number 800, and you really must have a lot to read! (Both of which call for a celebration really!) People normally say that you “waste your time” reading books. But they never really say that to people who watch too many of those silly daytime television shows, or people who stay up watching films all night. The reason for this is because people who don’t read are naturally afraid of the intelligence of the people who do read.

30 Books to Read Before You Die (Pt. 26)
I think you’ve probably worked out that I like to read now. If you haven’t, then you clearly haven’t been paying very much attention! We are now hitting bigger numbers and are well underway within the 700 mark. Before you ask, no, I do not know how long this will continue, but I’m happy it is continuing for as long as it has been already. I feel like there are so many books out there just waiting to be read and just waiting to be understood. Personally, I like reading classics, whether that be a really old classic or a modern classic, I don’t really mind. My genres are never fixed since I like to binge read a bunch of different things. At the time of writing this, I’m actually binge-reading a bit of Norman Mailer and a bit of Victorian Poetry as well. I think it is always important to have something to read because you never know when you’re going to need to get out of some awkward situation like a long train ride or a wait for a delayed bus. You nearly always need to have a book on your person!

30 Books to Read Before You Die (Pt. 25)
I know I’ve probably been going on forever now, but you need to realise that there are a ton of books out there to be read. I mean I don’t think I could even cover all the good ones in these lists, but I’m going to keep going, because of the fact that I adore reading. Very recently, I had some great book recommendations from people that, at the moment, I am working my way through. I feel like maybe I’m going to be reading forever, but then again, that’s not a bad thing at all. I understand that all different kinds of people like all different kinds of books, and even though some people may not like reading, that doesn’t make the concept of books boring at all. I thoroughly believe that if someone says they don’t like reading then they really just haven’t found their book yet. I don’t discriminate against graphic novels and comics (I do really enjoy my Shonen Jump collection!) and I don’t think that reading a magazine isn’t reading (well that’s because I have and collect so many magazines!). I think that if you’re reading something that you enjoy, and something that will take you somewhere, then you’re reading something and that’s the point. Be that as it may, I won’t be including graphic novels, comics, and magazines on these posts purely because I want to save them for posts of their own. I feel like if I gave too many different media types in these posts we’d all just end up getting very confused.

10 Greatest Cover Songs by Bob Dylan
Bob Dylan is normally known as the greatest songwriter who has ever lived and, well, that is correct. But that doesn't mean he doesn't like to experiment with the songs of other artists from time to time, sometimes changing them to suit him. There have been many on many different albums and in many different eras in which Bob Dylan has covered another artists song and sometimes, better than the original.
