A Country Comparison Amongst COVID-19
Affecting almost all corners of the planet to varying degrees, it is worthwhile to discuss the discrepancies between different countries’ method of suppressing COVID-19 subsequent to the obvious difference in results and current quality of life. An example of this dissimilarity would be that of Canada, which has around 227 cases per million, and Taiwan, which has around 2.15. Despite a population concentrated on an island comparable in size to that of Vancouver Island, Taiwan made strides to defeat the virus through rigorous measures, the customary transparency of the government, and a culture of unity and cooperative conformity; this proves to be a combination of macro level factors and a strong government.

Book Review: A Pail Of Oysters
This is a novel called A Pail of Oysters. A book that, although published in 1953, was scarcely available until recently. A book banned for decades and passed around in secret, a book that the government hated so much they sent people to steal and destroy copies from even the libraries overseas too. If you were caught reading this book, you could die. But the story inside this book is simultaneously tragic and beautiful. The story deserves to be told. This is a story so incredibly intertwined with culture, gender, and sex; in fact, this book exists because of the clash and kaleidoscope of cultures.

Christmas Is A Family Affair
Shepherd’s pie and yams were her little Lawrence’s favourite. She bustled around the kitchen, checking on the casserole in the oven and the yams on the stove. He would be here soon, along with the rest of the family, to celebrate Christmas as a family. She glanced at the clock: 5:46 p.m. They usually gathered for dinner at 6:30 sharp, so there was still time. Her daughter Summer was always getting into trouble, so who knew what she was even doing at this minute, and her son Lawrence was probably helping his young son with homework, or something else. She paused, spatula in hand. What was her grandson’s name again?
