Humanity attained the ideal society that generations had only imagined in the year 2149. The city, which was powered by endless clean energy taken from the stars, was called Everlight. It was a smooth network of glowing towers, lush gardens, and buzzing skyways that spanned continents. Nanomedical intervention had eliminated disease; hunger, poverty, and crime were relegated to the history books.
