CHAPTER 1 There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. Or, as Melody Falcon knew only too well, there weren’t only dragons in the Valley. Presently, she didn’t care one little bit. Right now her life depended on avoiding a silent army of predators known as Nam-Chompians (Chompers for short) who had been sent to derail her, devour her, or at the very least turn her into a smoldering, whimpering pile of human flesh; but that wasn’t going to happen. Not today. Not if Melody had anything to say about it.
