Choose your business partner wisely and ruthlessly, or risk losing it all
Much has been written about this, yet we repeatedly make the same mistake: choosing the wrong partner for our business venture. Today, I'll share my own experience. A few years ago, I welcomed a financial professional from Wall Street to my team. I did so because I lacked financial expertise and needed complementary skills for my sales and marketing capabilities. While I had the right idea, my execution was poor. I was "seduced" by his Wall Street title, financial market knowledge, and ease in discussing multimillion-dollar transactions. Due to my insecurity and lack of due diligence, he bulldozed himself into the team. Unfortunately, my inability to see his "baggage" narcissism, arrogance, ego, and lack of integrity, led me to welcome a negative influence into my life. In short, by bringing him into my team, I gained financial skills but also introduced intolerable characteristics that damaged the entire team and, ultimately, the clients of my women empowerment and environmental practice.

Interview with “Climate Changers; The future of sustainability and the clean tech
• Pros/cons of having COP 28 (and now 29) hosted by a petro state? o I mostly see positive aspects of having petroleum-producing countries involved in the climate negotiations. In fact, I believe that COP28 hosted by the UAE was a powerful step towards getting to NetZero. The UAE is the 7th largest oil producing country, and getting their political and financial commitment towards global decarbonization sets an important precedent that will also help getting other oil and gas producing countries to participate more actively in decarbonization.

Here are the transformative insights I carried home from my visit to the Pueblo reservation, shaping my approach to 2024
As I explored the Bandelier Pueblo reserve (New Mexico), I found myself immersed in a lifestyle that thrived nearly 500 years ago. Nestled in a breathtaking valley, I marveled at the ancient homes (caves carved in rock formations), now preserved as remarkable historical heritage. Seated in what was once a bedroom and safe refuge carved into the rocks, I meditated, transcending into a time when humans and nature coexisted for survival. The enviroment was peaceful and intact and the solitude allowed my introspection to reach a deep level.

Resiliency Makes Businesses and Countries More Competitive
In today’s globally interconnected economy, the intersection between business and policy is more important than ever. Governments, corporations, and civil society organizations engage with each other like never before, producing sustainable arrangements to promote growth in emerging markets, and pooling resources and know-how to address and mitigate financial crises and shocks. The most resilient countries and businesses are those who understand this reality, and are equipped to measure, avoid, and manage all risk types, whether they be natural disasters, resource scarcity, pandemics, population displacement, political or economic instability, or disruptive technological changes. The World Bank Development Report (WDR) 2017 highlighted the fact that job creation and a stable market occurs not simply because of economic growth, but because a country encounters fewer episodes in which crisis or conflict damages its economy or prevents essential capital and expertise from reaching its local markets.
