I don't think I need to go into detail about how important reading is to developing children. The research is out there in heaps. For starters, fostering a love of reading creates strong critical thinking skills, better concentration, and can really give them confidence in school.

My husband and I have been together for nearly ten years. Being that I am 30, this means that I have been with him for a third of my life. People say the honeymoon phase wears off, and I am honestly so thankful that it does. Sure, it is fun to have something new and exciting with all the shiny bells and whistles. New relationships are like chandeliers that catch all the light and throw it around the room, but a good marriage is like your favorite comfy chair: It is the place you fall into and feel safe. That one place where you are truly yourself with all your flaws and quirks. I am so happy to be married.

How to Survive Being a SAHM
There seems to be an idealized view of what it's like to be a stay at home mom. We wake up for homemade breakfasts of fun shaped pancakes topped with healthy fruit that our children devour with glee. We take picnics at the park with whole wheat bread. We share giggles under blanket forts. Maybe we do a lot of these things, but we also have plenty of work as well. There's a reason daycare is so expensive—kids take a lot of work throughout the day!

When she snuck out of the house tonight to meet him, she was all adrenaline. Now, waiting under the street lamp, she felt the fear she wished would have befallen her earlier. The street was so dark outside the circle of light — her protection. It is hard to believe that with all the wits adults claimed she had, she would ever be seen standing alone on this quiet empty street so late at night. A shiver ran through her — in her hyper rush to leave, she did not think about the sun stealing its warmth with its travels. And to make it worse… he was late. The goal as a parent isn't to have your child wear the most eco-friendly clothing while munching on kale wrapped asparagus or whatever healthy concoction has dominated their young lives.
