“Hello! We’ve been trying to reach you regarding your car’s extended warranty,” Alec hung up the phone. He hated robocalls; he knew he could just not answer, but he also hated losing control over his phone. He worked a customer service job from home. If someone needed to call him and he didn’t have their number saved in his phone, which was often, he needed to answer.

Still Life
Lisa tapped her foot gently back and forth between the table legs in the large conference room, tracing her fingers into the shape of hairy dicks under the table, counting down the clock for lunch while her boss, Barry, continued to drone on and on about graphs and financials. This meeting could have easily been an email rather than pulling all thirteen of the company’s employees into a stuffy room built for seven. She tried not to make it clear that she was bored up to her sweaty tits.

Object of Desire
The yellow orange ombre of the magazine was in fine contrast to the red block-letter Kärlek splashed across the top. Karl smiled at the depiction of himself with one of his latest masterpieces. He had come a long way from the first feature article, a simple story in the Pteetneet City Chronicle, about a modern-day high school genius who delicately and accurately sculpted the school’s warrior mascot in marble. From the soles of his boots to the tip of his pronged helmet, the twenty-foot statue still stood in the courtyard twenty-seven years later.

Discount Tuesday
Gavin enjoyed working part time at the Pteetneet Film Society, a fourplex theater with purple velvet walls and black and white checkered floor that primarily showed cult classics and independent films, but he hated working the Tuesday shifts because it was always too slow. He straightened a box of Grandma Jelly brand Peanut Butter chunks and let out a sigh.

I knew I wanted to adopt a dog, but I did not think I would be adopting from, of all places, Overstock.com. In 2014 they partnered with local adoption agencies where I found this adorable picture at my local animal shelter.
