Introduction Nigeria is a country with a large oil and gas industry that accounts for close to 90% of its exports revenue. Despite this, Nigeria has been plagued with economic hardships for decades due to bad governance and corruption. One of the most recent economic troubles in the country is the Nigerian government’s removal of oil subsidies, a system that had been in place for over two decades.
