Where Did the Titanic Iceberg Really Come From? Titanic Ship that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean April 14 1912, a photo of a giant Iceberg was taken with a pretty unusual elliptical shape, it turns out that this Iceberg most likely formed out of snow that fell one hundred thousand (100,000) years ago. Researchers used computer modelling to figure out its origin. They used data from 1912 and added some new information about winds and ocean currents. It was concluded that the iceberg was probably a part of a small cluster of glaciers in Southwest Greenland.
