Seasons of Emotions
I don’t ridicule the sky when it rains. Though there may have been sunshine the previous days, I don’t look into oncoming gray clouds with disgust. I don’t condemn the first raindrop that falls from the swollen sky, I don’t curse the lightning when it illuminates the city as brightly as the moon does during the night.

The Root of Your Intention
In the Christian environment that I was raised in, I often heard the phrase "money is the root of all evil." I heard it so frequently that I could practically predict its arrival in conversations, when it was being prepared in the mind to roll off the tongue as a philosophical addition to the complaints of the current state of the world. I was raised to believe that money was a product of hell, that it was created to be a mind-control tactic that could manipulate people into committing awful acts for the sake of it. While some of these views can ring true when looking at many situations on a global and individual scale, I’ve come to learn that this perspective helped to integrate what I refer to as the scarcity mindset within my family, and thus within me.

Lessons in Loneliness
I can't recall a time loneliness has ever approached me as gently as it has recently. I could source the reason for this emotion on many external factors, one of them being blatantly obvious, but to do that would feel like missing the point. Loneliness and I could even have been considered close friends in the past, but it has never risen within me the way it has recently.

The Reflection in the Slow Down
A society that equates busyness with productivity is a society that can become detrimentally distracted. We’ve all seen the quotes on social media about always hustling and never sleeping, the hundreds of videos swearing by the benefits of waking up at 4 or 5am every morning, giving tips and tricks to become the most successful or productive that you ever have. As we’ve seen this kind of content quite often, especially as the rise of self-help came to compliment it, some of us may have taken the bait.
