How Korean Drama ‘Lovely Runner’ showcased Love in All Forms
This article contains heavy spoilers. Read with caution. Love is in everything we do, it’s in how we tell our friends to take care after we hang out, it’s in how we prepare meals for our family, it’s in how we watch and consume the media we enjoy. Love is especially present in the hit Korean drama “Lovely Runner” starring Kim Hyeyoon and Byeon Wooseok, where love transcends all and becomes the catalyst to the happy ending it has. The series follows the story of Im Sol (Hyeyoon) being the biggest fan of idol Ryu Sunjae (Wooseok). Sol was once an aspiring film director whose dreams were crushed when she got into an accident that paralyzed her, yet Sunjae was able to give her hope to keep going in life. Sol becomes devastated when Sunjae commits suicide, which is where the story picks up in a timeslip.

Not your ordinary day: How a 3 year old survived Typhoon Ondoy
Picture this: it’s September 2009, you’re sleeping in because it’s a Saturday and you didn’t have any classes, and the rain was pouring, which makes it the perfect time to laze around in bed. 3 year old Andi was feeling comfortable in the safety of her room at the time, without knowing that what’s happening is currently the calm before the storm; literally.

The Aftermath of the May 9 Elections
Note: This was written in June 4, 2022, and is only being published now. The evening of the May 9 National Elections brought everyone hoping for a change in our country two emotions: anxiousness and nervousness. Millions of voters in the Philippines lined up early in the morning to cast their votes for president, vice president, senators, and local authorities of their respective cities. For the majority youth, they picked VP Leni Robredo and Senator Kiko Pangilinan as their president and vice president respectively for the opposition, to counter the Uniteam tandem of the dictator’s son and namesake Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Mayor Inday Sara Duterte. The Leni-Kiko tandem (who were always placing second according to the pre-election surveys to the frontrunners from Uniteam) brought so much hope for a brighter future, so the entire country was at the edge of its seat after the polls closed, awaiting the release of the partial and unofficial tally.

The Ice Prince: On the Rink and On Stage
Our parents always told us to dream big as a child, no matter how crazy it was. Whether it was wanting to become an astronaut and landing on Mars, or becoming a famous actor with 5 Oscars to your name, they would entertain your musings and tell you to reach for the stars. 8-year-old Park Sunghoon wasn’t an exemption to this; once upon a time, he was an awkward boy who tried figure skating to improve his social skills. Who would’ve known, over the course of the next 12 years, Sunghoon would come to achieve great feats, dream of big things, leave a part of his life behind, find something new to be passionate about, and grow and reflect as an individual?

A Girl's Best Friend
Four years ago, around the height of the pandemic, one of my childhood dreams came true; we finally got a dog. It was one of the happiest nights of my life, picture this: it was 11PM during a hot April night, my dad just got home from paying a visit to his parents, and he had a 2-month old puppy with him. It was one of the most stupefying moments of my life, seeing this little white ball of fur with him, and as my dad let her down to go around and greet us, she hid under the couch. We all laughed and coaxed her out, and gave her a bunch of pets and food. She eventually warmed up to us, and the rest was history.

How Enhypen and Filipino Engenes Connected in New Clark City
The seven members of K-pop group ENHYPEN have always had the word “connect” in their dictionary, as it’s how they derived the name of their group as well; just like how hyphens connect different words to make new meanings, the members will connect, discover each other, and grow together.

To All The Boybands I’ve Loved Before
Through the course of a girl's life - particularly mine, - all she ever needs is three things: friends to lean on, good food to eat, and a boyband to obsess over. It’s quite a peculiar list for the eyes of an outsider, but hey, if you know, you know!

How to Study Efficiently & Effectively
As students, we’ve all experienced the agony of attempting to study. You sit down on your desk, open your modules, and just stare at your materials, as you have no will to start. It’s not even because you feel lazy; the amotivation a student feels especially around exam seasons is more common than you think, and it’s something a lot of young people face, especially now that we’re essentially done with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through Time and Life, There will Always be Songs that Scream Pride
One thing about the LGBTQ+ community, they're able to bring pride to many different art forms; may it be through painting, literature, cinema, or even music. Songs have been a way for queer people to express themselves and their feelings, which is why music in itself is such a big part of their wide and diverse culture; they are able to play and celebrate the lyrics that reflect their own identities.
