Over time, the dynamite had become highly unstable, with nitroglycerin seeping out. He dug a 30-foot hole, placed the dynamite in it, and attempted to bury it. Tragically, while he was patting down the earth to flatten it, the compression triggered a massive explosion. The blast rocked the town of Kievena, and the man was torn to shreds, surviving just long enough to tell the authorities about his ill-fated decision before succumbing to his injuries. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of mishandling explosives.
