'Final Fantasy 13' - Lightning Strikes Down the Middle
Hello, and welcome back to Second Chances where my focus is fighting for the maligned, forgotten, and ignored. Final Fantasy fever has reignited more than it has in years thanks to the phenomenal success of the long-awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake. I'm playing it myself, and, even though it'll never take the spot on my favorite games list away from the original version on the original Playstation, it is still a great reimagining of the first major part of Cloud's story. I've been a fan of the Final Fantasy franchise long before it was considered cool to be one. I own all the major installments of the franchise and even a good number of the spin-offs. Even though I've only finished a few of them (since I tend to jump among different games), I've enjoyed them all. You know one of the ones I HAVE finished? The much-derided Final Fantasy XIII.

More Beyond KPop
Hello, and welcome back to Silver Linings where the maligned, forgotten, and ignored are on the playlist. Korean music is commonplace around my house, and I'm not just talking KPop. The music scene over there has the kind of diversity that could give the US a run for its money. Since posting my first look beyond KPop, more acts have been discovered by Ally and me that deserve attention here. Here are twelve more acts that should be on your Spotify or YouTube playlist when you're feeling adventurous.

Learning Politics With RoboCop
I've always been a very studious guy. I just like learning, and it's paid off in many ways, from graduating at the top of my class in high school to getting my current very good day job. However, not all of my learning has come from textbooks and classrooms. I've actually learned more about financial management from playing building sim video games than from my economics classes, for example. Movies have also bolstered my education beyond the classroom. In fact, I gained full understanding of two very complex political issues thanks to my favorite movie of all time, the 1987 sci-fi/action masterpiece RoboCop.

'Crackdown 3' - Back On Duty
Hello, and welcome back to Second Chances where the maligned, forgotten, and ignored get another tour of duty. Let's face it; promises can be problematic things. It's very easy to promise more than can be realistically delivered, and failing to satisfy promises can multiply failures exponentially. When added in with the almost excessive hyperbole typical with game criticism, you can easily see a game that's just underwhelming suddenly get treated like it's the second coming of Superman 64. I saw that happen with 2019's Crackdown 3.

'Hard To Kill' - The Only Good "True" Seagal Movie
Hello, and welcome back to Second Chances where the maligned, forgotten, and ignored come back swinging. Growing up in the 80s and 90s, I spent a lot of my life watching action icons. My favorite movies lists that I put up last year have plenty of representation from the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, and Jean-Claude Van Damme. However, one action icon from the era that has become a punchline since that period ended is Steven Seagal.

For New BTS Fans - 10 Great Female KPop Acts
Hi, and welcome back to Silver Linings where I shine the spotlight on the maligned, forgotten, and ignored. Last time, I brought up ten KPop acts that are a great starting point for those new to the genre. After all, one could get sick of BTS if they're the only ones getting loaded up on Spotify. However, KPop isn't a boys-only club, and now it's time to give the stage to the ladies.

For New BTS Fans - 10 Great KPop Acts
Hello, and welcome back to Silver Linings where the maligned, forgotten, and ignored burn the stage. 2019 was an amazing year for the KPop septet BTS. With the success of the insanely catchy "Boy With Luv" off their EP Map of the Soul: Persona, KPop reached mainstream audiences more effectively than ever before. Psy's "Gangnam Style" may have been a very popular novelty, but it was still nothing more than a novelty. BTS, meanwhile, became an act that got mainstream pop fans excited like few modern acts could.

'Heaven's Gate' - Too Epic for the 80s?
Hello, and welcome back to Second Chances where the maligned and forgotten don't have a date with the hangman. Back in the 60s, the theaters regularly got historical epics. Movies like Ben-Hur, The Great Escape, Lawrence of Arabia, and The Ten Commandments were more than films; they were events with their 3+ hour runtimes and grand scale. Nowadays, epics are more fantasy-based with The Lord of the Rings films and Avengers: Endgame. Epics were pretty much unwelcome in the 80s; no one had time to devote 3 hours to a movie. Caught in the middle of that was the 1980 epic western Heaven's Gate.

My Top 100 Favorite Games of All Time: #25 - 1
Hi, and welcome to the final part of my favorite games list. The games that made the Top 25 on my list are the games that I would find any excuse to load up any time. Some of these games are highly acclaimed masterpieces, and some are games that I just happen to have enjoyed the most even if the critics didn't. In the first three parts of this list, I showed how diverse my gaming interests were, and that shows in this part as well. Like the rest of the list, I'm only including one game per franchise and only mentioning the platform that I've played the listed game on the most.
