I’m a published author. I can’t believe that my book is out there in the world, that my thoughts are there for others to read. In fact, the idea that I could write anything that other people would want to read is difficult to believe. But, I have never had high self-esteem.

How do you like your coffee?
I think how my husband and I make a pot of coffee is very telling for how each of us live our lives. This morning my throat is sore. I’m groggy from all the sleep medications I have to take to get an adequate number of hours of sleep. My toddler is running around me, pantless and spilling milk as she goes.

The outside world was unknown to her, but she could see a glimpse of it through the window in his room. He was the new professor, joining the school only days before. She stood there now staring at him, studying him. He stood with his back to her, she could see the muscles of his back rippling through his suit jacket. His broad shoulders made the jacket just a slightly bit too tight.

Bedtime. . Top Story - August 2021.
It’s bedtime. Sometimes I don’t want to go to sleep because it means starting all over tomorrow. I never used to feel this way. I used to love going to bed, the feeling of exhaustion, the soft fabric of my pillow and the release of tension from my body as I drift into sleep.
