Sports Festival...

So, my dear sports - loving friends, when I saw the exciting sports events taking place these days, I remembered a sports festival that our Chamari residents participated in...

The bank's annual sports festival is a small event that is meant for the sports club set and the set of branches around Colombo to have fun... Those who have to spend money and come to Colombo to see their denim shorts.. I'm not saying that, our Dias sir...

So, after several rounds of "extraordinary" discussions in Chamariyee, our set decided to go to Colombo to compete.. Although Dias sir did not participate, he was willing to shoulder the burden of the transportation expenses... Amare and Kumara were entrusted with the organization.

So, we held the final "special" meeting tomorrow, to review the progress of the organization of the trip.

Accordingly, the list of items that Amare and Kumara had prepared was as follows…

One Congo

One hand tambourine

Six bottles

Two large sodas

One kilo of mixer

Eight packets of chickpeas

12 cans of B/R

Six loaves of bread

One bat

A ball….

We did not forget to thank Amare and Kumara for the adequate preparations that had been made to participate in a sports festival…

At the end of the previous day's honeymoon, we left for Colombo in the morning with the same energy and when we passed Kegalle, the organizing committee, Kumara and Amare, started to complain… saying that the management they had brought was not sufficient for the journey.. After filling the gaps at a shop at the Rangwala junction, we set off again…

Only Buddhika knew the way to the sports ground… The driver was also not very familiar with the roads of Colombo… No matter how much we told Buddhika, he would not come to the front seat and would sing songs on the promise that he would give directions from the back seat…

The man was calling Beg Master's numbers…

It was already past ten in the morning… The sports festival had started at 9 o'clock.. Buddhika was singing from the back seat… Masura.. neither eating nor drinking… Sleepless... old... dying... going...

"This way" "This way.."

Buddhika says while pointing the way in the middle of the song...

"Where to the left? To the right?"

The driver asks, turning back...

"Look ahead and drive."

Kumara shouts..

Buddhika still stretches out his hand,

shouting "Here, here"..

Now it's too late.. The driver has lost his nerve.. He stops the vehicle at the worst possible moment...

"Sir, if you know this way, come forward and tell me, what kind of cloth is it?"

When Buddhika said this affectionately, he slowly came to the front seat and gave directions. Even though he said it with hand signals, the man was able to find the way because he was standing next to the driver… We barely reached the stadium at four in the afternoon, watched the trophies being presented to the champions, took ten food packets for a bite and left again….

When we arrived, Buddhika was sleeping.. The driver said,

''This devil will do it after he calls me on the phone once.''

That's how the residents of Chamari participated in the sports festival.. You just went to Colombo and brought the bat and the ball…..
