A day to remember

It's about an year ago, when I came to know about an artist. He was not any usual artist. There was something special about him. Do you want to know his name and his special story?

Aren't you excited? Alright then, I will not bother you for longer. Let's begin our journey to know about his life story.

So, it was a bright sunny day in twentieth century of Paris, when a cute and chubby little boy first opened his eyes. He was called Steve by his parents. He grew up just like any other normal child in a family.

As he was not born with a golden spoon, he always dreamt of doing something great and earning a lot of money. But there was something unusual about this desire; he didn't know what's his purpose of life, as if he was a robot with no emotions, who only wanted to work and earn money.

During his high school, he discovered that he was quite skilled at painting. So, from that day , he started to hon his skills in painting to become an artist but he didn't knew his purpose of life.

He always used to think, " What's my purpose of life rather than earning money? ", " Why I want to paint? ", " Why I am choosing it as my career? ", " Is there any other motive rather than just earning money? " and so on..... Due to these questions, he never named his paintings; he just drew them with skills and no emotions.

He tried very hard to sell them, but it didn't work. He was frustrated about this and about all the questions whose answers he could not find. He was living in a complete misery.

People were not able to connect their souls with his paintings. His paintings were just like "a canvas on which just technical skills were shown and no emotions.

One day, as usual he was trying to find answers of his questions while walking in a park. During that walk, he heard a couple talking that their child was going to die at an early age due to a chronic disease. They further continued that his last wish was to see a painting of him playing with his friends.

After listening them, Steve quickly told them that he was an artist and he could paint a picture of their child playing with his friends . They didn't say anything. Then, Steve added that he would not charge a single Penny from them for the painting. They agreed.

Now, just think what could have happened next?
Ok, let me tell, ....

He painted the picture and showed it to the child and he died happily. Well, something unusual happened that day. Guess what?
For the first time in his life, he named his painting as "Last Wish".

Yes, you read it right. He named it. Just like you are wondering now, he also wondered that how could he name his painting for the first time in his life.

He felt a sense of satisfaction that day but still he was not able to find answers to his questions.

Few days passed. It was a bright summer morning when he found out that his friend's sister was extremely sick and that she had lost her all hopes to live. She was saying that on the next day, with the first strike of sunlight through her window, she would die.

Knowing that, Steve felt an urge to save her. So, he painted a real- looking night sky painting and hanged it on the window of her room (offcourse after closing the real window).
Consequently, she was looking at the window for very long, but she couldn't see the sunlight striking into her room through the window.
That painting saved her, as it ave her a ray of hope and she was cured. Steve felt extremely happy about what he did and surprisingly, he again named his painting.

He named it as "The Night Saviour".
That day, what he felt was the true happiness and contentment. Finally, he realised that he was able to name his paintings because of the emotions and intentions with which he made them.

Therefore, from that day onwards he started to paint with emotions and gave titles to his "Untitled" paintings.
This time, people were able to connect themselves to his paintings. And believe me, they were mesmerized by his paintings as if those paintings were indirectly connecting some sort of threads to people's hearts.

He started to earn good money through his paintings and was living a good life from that day onwards.

But the thing that was giving him the most satisfaction was not the money this time; it was the sense of completeness he was feeling. Our Steve found the ultimate purpose of his life which was to " paint pictures to make people happy ".

At the end, I hope that just like Steve found his purpose of life you will also find your ultimate purpose that will give you eternal happiness.
