The Face of Her
We call it God,
We call it Gaia,
We call it spirit,
We call it energy,
We call it the force of life,
We call it many things, but what we fail to realize is that she lives behind our faces. She’s more than what we can comprehend. We call it she, her, he, him; sometimes even it. There’s no correct way of describing the beauty that lives within us. We get to see her through each other, through books, movies, tv shows and more. We get to experience all the faces of her. We get to hear her laugh through different people, we get to hear her cries from different disguises, we get to see her smile on many faces, we get to live through her at our own paces. Many of us are experiencing life through different lenses, but when will we see this is the gift of choice she extended. We all are connected to her in different ways; I connect with her as I stare into the face of nature. The force of the heavy wind blows into my face with so much passion. The way the trees sway back and forth completes me. The sound of cars crashing into the rain, the cold droplets sinking into my skin, and the way the sun beams into my face. This is when I feel most alive; this is when I feel most connected to her. These are the aspects of life people call small… “Enjoy the small things.” They say, but in my experience everything but this is small. Money is small, houses are small, cars are small, having a status is small. Actually, enjoying her movements is fulfilling; loving her sound is magnificent, allowing her to love me is a dream come true.
You can seek parts of her through human beings, animals, insects, and plants. But when you seek her through your own point of view this is when she becomes even more vibrant and alive. What’s your meaning of true happiness? Mine is to be engulfed by her beauty; it’s to understand her call. When I look into the eyes of another, I hope she notices my care for her. When I speak life into someone, I hope she hears the love in my voice. When I listen to someone's cries, I hope she feels my compassion. When I pet my dog, this is more for me than it’s for him; I’m just happy I’m able to caress and embrace someone with animation. When I write I understand I’m just like her, only she’s the one creating me to be the type of person to create. She’s my director and I am her reactor; together we are whole. When I read someone else's words I smile because I know I’m not alone. They may say something different, they may say something I don’t/ won’t understand, and they may even say something I never thought of before but I will always know they’re another part of her. They’re another face of hers. This realization has taught me what unconditional love means and I hope I continue to move deeper into these realizations. My goal is to move as deep into love as possible; my goal is to love her as deeply as I possibly can, my goal is to cherish her with every breath I exhale. I want her to notice how much she is loved; how much she is cared for and appreciated. Through every movement I make I want her to see how devoted I am to creating this life with joy.
