Let me first explain a bit about my journey as a freelancer.

It has been around ~6 years since I started freelancing, though I have an overall work experience of 13 years. As a freelancer, I started working with specific companies and some referral clients from where I used to receive the work and get paid.

So, I was never involved in direct client building or seeking work through freelance platforms like Fiverr.

However, after a few years of working as a freelance researcher, I realized that it is important to create a freelance profile on at least one or two platforms. So, I have created mine on Fiverr as I found it the most convenient of all others available in the market.

Starting with Fiverr

#1. Before starting with Fiverr, you need to be clear with the skills that you can offer as your services to the clients. For example, I am a skilled market research analyst and a writing professional. Likewise, you can also decide on at least one or two skills. (Check my gigs on Fiverr)

#2. At Fiverr, you first need to create your profile and provide basic details. It is important to put a face to your name, this increases the authenticity of your profile as well as helps attract clients seeking services as it would help them better connect with you to work.

#3. Now, you need to create gigs according to the skills that you had already decided on your Fiverr profile. Gigs are nothing but the services that you wish to offer to clients.

#4. Here, in this “Gig” section, you are required to provide all the details related to your gig including a tagline to help the client find your gig, a detailed description of what will you offer if someone decides to work with you, and why one should hire you.

#5. You also need to provide the price of your gig and at what price you wish to provide a particular service to your client. The most interesting thing I found at Fiverr is that you can create as many gigs as you want. (Check my gig on Fiverr)

For example, in addition to the primary services that I offer which the secondary market research services for businesses, I am also a skilled writing person and write healthcare-related articles (Check my gigs on Fiverr).

Apart from this, I have learned canvas designing and so, also like to design flyers and brochures for healthcare businesses. (Check my gigs on Fiverr)

Accordingly, people like me create a number of gigs based on the type of specific services they wish to offer to their clients.

#6. Now, it comes to selling your services or gigs on Fiverr. There are many clients on Fiverr seeking freelancers to help them complete certain tasks. These clients used to find freelancers for their jobs through the gigs available on the platform.

So, if they find your gig interesting, they will contact you with their specific query and you can either decide or deny to work. As there are millions of freelancers on the platform, it is important that your profile and gigs stand out from the crowd to get noticed by buyers or clients. Therefore, it is important that you provide a proper description of each of your gigs and use suitable keywords so that your gig gets some hits from the buyers.

Most importantly, being honest, consistent, and genuine with your approach wins the chance. So, be ready with your profile on Fiverr, you never know when your first project lands. :)
