What Would Roronoa Zoro Do If Luffy Faced Execution Like Gol D. Roger?

What Would Roronoa Zoro Do If Luffy Faced Execution Like Gol D. Roger? - Anime One Piece 2025

Let me paint the picture for you. Imagine Monkey D. Luffy, ever optimistic, a force of nature that could not be stopped, on an execution platform, much like Gol D. Roger so many years ago. The crowd is screaming, the Marines are ready, and the world waits. Now let's imagine Roronoa Zoro, the co-pilot and jawbreaker of Luffy, overhearing this. What would he do? Trust me, it wouldn't be subtle.

Zoro is not just a swordsman; he's a force of will. Since the very start, his loyalty to Luffy has been unshakeable. This is the man who, after his humble experience with Mihawk, said, "I will never lose again! not for himself but for the sake of Luffy's dream. An example could be when the life of Luffy depended on it, the Iaijutsu samurai Zoro will move mountains to save him; and when I say "move heaven and earth," I mean slicing through anything-or anyone-standing in his way.

Let’s break this down. To begin with, Zoro would never let himself fall into paralysis caused out of sheer fear and indecision. He’s a man of action, plain and simple. If Luffy were captured and taken to an execution platform, Zoro’s first instinct would be to gather the crew. He’d rally them with a fiery speech, something like, "We’re not just crewmates. We’re family. And we’re not losing another family member."

Pulp the scene into chaos. He is not the type of person to overthink it. Be it Marineford-level opposition or cutting one's way through a flotilla of warships, Zoro would channel pure determination and monstrous power to make a path to Luffy. You've witnessed him stand up to things that should've broken him before, such as swallowing Luffy's agony at Thriller Bark without breaking a sweat. That's the level of devotion we're talking about here.

Let's not forget how Zoro fights. On the other hand, a guy who's managing Santoryu-three swords fighting technique-and mastering at the same time Enma, one of the spookiest blades ever, no less. If the Marines decided to stop him, then they are in for quite an awaking. Just think: an empty avenue, Zoro cutting a swath through ranks of people, and his aura instills fear into the others alone. That would be absolutely legendary.

But here's the thing with Zoro: he is all muscle and grit. Really principled, too. Were he to ever get to that platform and find Luffy in a place to decide-to either accept his fate, like Gol D. Roger did, or fight to the bitter end-Zoro would respect Luffy's choice. That, in fact, is the beauty in their relationship: loyalist does not equal stalker; 'Zoro's loyalty is not blind subservience, but blind support, no matter what'.

Now, imagine going back and replaying that emotional moment: Zoro has always been the silent backbone of the crew, shouldering the responsibilities. However, catching Luffy in a troublesome position-for example, in some blunt, eye-catching, high-pressure scene-is surely going to push his emotional boundaries. While he may not express it on the surface, the passion can be felt in every blow his blades swing, in each cry against the resistance provided by the Marines. One would know he'd do this much not only because of his desire to save Luffy but for everyone's dream-a dream which is as worth dying for as is worth living for.

Over his dead body.

The question isn't what Zoro would do-we already know he'd do everything. How epic would it be, though? And considering it's Zoro, that would be a milestone for decades.
