The enchanted diary of the the little alms

Little alms

By Enaye precious Published 2 years ago 2 min read

Once upon a time, in the charming, heart-shaped town of Sharewood, a 10-year old girl named Alms lived with her adoptive parents - a humble shopkeeper named Harold and his kindly, luminescent wife, Beatrice.

Alms was not ordinary, though. She bore an otherworldly charm and was adored by everyone. Everything about her whispered a mysterious allure: her ginger-hued curls bounced graciously around her tiny heart-shaped face; her wide, emerald eyes twinkled with inherent wisdom, and her dainty stature bore an angelic aura.

One early summer day, a mysterious package arrived, addressed to Alms. Inside, she found an intricate diary, enclosed within a silver casing engraved with odd symbols. Inside, parchment-thin pages lay empty, urging for confessions. But the moment Alms held the diary, she could hear an elusive stream of whispers flowing. Amused and intrigued, she accepted the diary as a peculiar yet entertaining gift.

She penned down her wishes, her dreams, fears, and thoughts in it every night. The pages, as if soaked in magic, cleared away for the next entry every day. Soon, Alms realized the diary was more than a mere journal- it was her magic book.

Whenever she wrote something in the diary, it came to life. Innocently, she wrote about a puppy she wished to have - to her astonishment, a fluffy Labrador bounded towards her the very next morning. She jotted down her desire for new dresses, and they appeared the following day. As the relationship of Alms and her diary deepened, so did the magical occurrences in their lives, bringing a strange delight to the streets of Sharewood.

Observing these strange events, Harold and Beatrice couldn't help but worry if the diary's magic was too immense for their little girl. Protectively, they intervened. Beatrice decided to start a conversation about it one night during supper.

"Alms, love, we adore the wonders your diary has brought us," she said, her voice shaking slightly, "but magic can be... dangerous. We don't understand it completely."

Undisturbed, Alms nodded with a knowing look in her emerald green eyes, "I know, mother. The whispers told me too."

They all fell silent for a moment. The peculiar phrase about 'whispers' struck them. Alms knew more than she let on. She was wise, and the whispers were her silent counselors.

counselors.

In a surprising act of maturity, Alms opened the diary and with a slight sigh, she wrote, "I wish all the magic from my diary to be transferred into the hearts of everyone in Sharewood - to love, to hope, to dream, and to be kind." The diary shuddered briefly, then felt silent and empty.

The days that followed were filled with love and harmony as the entire Sharewood community started offering selfless acts of kindness, demonstrating unfathomable resilience, and loving profoundly. It was then that Harold and Beatrice realized that their little girl was wiser than they could fathom, and the diary, initially a mysterious puzzle, had been a vessel that guided them towards a path of unity and shared love.

Alms' story echoed through the ages, serving as a reminder that magic does not always reside in fairy-tales or mystical objects; instead, it blossoms in the hearts of those who dare to love, dream, and have the courage to believe in the power of kindness. And little Alms, along with her adoptive parents, lived happily in the heart-inspired community of Sharewood -
