The trajectory of marketing, as with the majority of industries, is intimately tied with new developments within the technological sphere. We have moved from radio and billboard promotion to social media advertising and product placement in films. With new advertising techniques constantly in development, it's an exciting time to be in marketing.

Reddit Explained
The death of StumbleUpon was a difficult dilemma for me. I received most of my reads from this site, so what to do, what to do? I turned to my nemesis, Reddit. I don't say this lightly - Reddit can be a bear. Readers complain about everything from your grammar to your content, even when you are posting an article written by someone else. I submitted an article on some ancient bones discovered in Israel, and they literally lowered a boom on my head because the title of the article claimed those bones would rewrite the timeline of evolution. My bad. Over time, I have become a Reddit whiz kid, and I would like to share my insights in the hope that you will become Reddit submitters. There is currently no better place to submitt your endeavors. I have tried all forms of social media from Flipboard to Twitter, and nothing comes close to the killing you can make on Reddit. I write narratives mostly in the sciences, so my audience is small. One post to Reddit got me 800 reads in one day.

Connected
Loading... loading... loading... start. Eerie silence flushed through the Earth like a deadly parasite awaiting to attach to its host, to connect. Little did everyone know just how "connected" they truly were. Full name, email, phone number, password, five things you need to fill up to join in and only five things They need to know from where you are, what you are doing, who you are with at all times to control you. A world brightened by cell phone screens, controlled by computer software without anyone ever realizing it.

Is Social Media Disconnecting More Than It Is Connecting People?
Digital natives, those born into the Digital Age, are surrounded by social networks. Instead of meeting up for a get together at a certain time and place, social media has flipped this on its head—now it’s all the time and everywhere! I’d like to ask how this is affecting the way we interact with and care for each other, the way we think of and care for ourselves and even to the extent of what we do and who we are becoming with our added virtual persona. A case could be made that social media is disconnecting people more than it is connecting them. It could be argued that the diversity of human relationships and communication cannot be substituted for the people we choose to connect with from behind a screen. The growing market of social media applications is beginning to redefine human connection. Are we escaping the complexities of reality to enjoy a seemingly simpler ‘virtuality’? Are we shortchanging ourselves?

Beauty Is in the Eye of the Camera
In the age of technological advancement and social media, the views that young boys and girls have are becoming distorted at a rapid pace. According to market research firm "Influence Central," the average age a child gets their first mobile phone is 10.3 years. Since your brain does not stop developing until your mid-20s, everything until that point will shape how you see the world cognitively. That is why I find the idea of a 10-year-old with a mobile phone harrowing.

How to Create Better Paid Social Media Advertisements
Social media has become a crucial part of companies' marketing strategies with 2.80 billion users in 2017. Dangerous Social Media Challenges Need to Stop!
At one time, the internet used to be a much more peaceful place than it is now. MSN Messenger was hugely popular, Facebook wasn't a thing and you were considered 'seriously cool' if you had the latest music downloaded onto your phone. However, now the internet is vast, frightening and downright stupid.

Social Media Is Sure Addicting
Being bored is never fun, but is being on social media all day really that fun either? It is starting to dominate people’s lives and quite honestly can be a form of addiction. I see seven-year-olds walking around Snapchatting, I go hang out with friends and hardly anyone talks and if we do it’s about what other people are doing on their social media. So fun right? Wrong! I can give examples of this all day long and I know you can as well. Will this stop or just continue to keep taking more and more of our time as we keep becoming more dependent on technology and our smart phones? It seems like as time continues social media users are becoming younger and the amount of time spent on them is continuing to increase.

Killer Likes
Social media is a great way to connect with people from around the world. It can be a great platform for people to start businesses and earn money. But it has a dark side. A side that takes us away from reality. It can recreate a person's life. Carefully chosen photos, videos, and posts give us a glimpse into the parts of a person's life they want us to see.
