Do you Own the Internet?
The internet is a larger network that allows computer networks controlled by enterprises, governments, colleges, and other organizations all over the world to communicate with one another. As a result, there are a tangle of cables, computers, data centers, routers, servers, satellites, and Wi-Fi towers that allow digital data to go across the world.

George Nakashima Furniture
George Nakashima was a carpenter, furniture artist. He was born in Spokane, WA. He acquired a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Washington in 1929 and a Master of Architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1931. George Nakashima furniture investigates the polarity among strength and delicacy. Cut from sublime bits of rich, unique wood, his works are extra and exquisite—the consequence of formal schooling in engineering just as broad openness to European Modernism, Eastern strict way of thinking, and Japanese art customs.

Catching the KGB
You’ve probably never heard of Dr. Clifford Stoll, an eccentric scientist from California with a Ph.D in astronomy, who almost single handedly outsmarted the KGB while some of their operatives in Germany were trying to hack into US national defense secrets.

Time Passes. Dreams Dim. Lives End. Now, Our Link to Them is Slipping Away.
When I first knew my grandmother, she was a powerhouse of a woman in both size and mind. At 5-foot-6 and taller when she was fuming about something, she was as wide as one of our Jersey cows before milking. But was she ever fast. Once, with shotgun in hand, she stared down a rabbit in her garden on our rocky Tennessee farm and grabbed it with the other hand. After giving it one of her forceful admonitions, she let it leave, alive, though it was never seen again.

Computer Science: What is it and what is it going to do to the world?
For the last few decades, computers and the internet have been a main aspect of our everyday lives. Whether it is searching for something simple on your phone to watching TV, everyone faces computers daily. Computers and technology have a grasp onto our lives, and we practically can not live without it. Computers are found in almost every household. According to Census.gov in 2018, about 92% of households in the United States had access to a computer. As computers get more advanced, the demand for a better computer gets greater. How do computers work exactly? They don't just magically work by themselves. Computers are able to do the things they can do through Computer Science. I know you may be wondering what is computer science? Computer Science is the study of computers and their theoretical and practical applications. It involves the understanding and design of how computers work and it applies the principles of mathematics, engineering, software and hardware development and finally Artificial Intelligence (AI). A computer is a machine that helps us calculate, stimulate and store information. The main parts of a computer that makes it a computer are input, output, central processing unit, memory, and disk storage. Without these 5 parts, the computer will not function properly. The foundation of computer science is mathematics and engineering and it incorporated techniques from probability and statistics and electronic circuit design which is the analysis and synthesis of electronic circuits. Computer science is also a part of 3 interrelated disciplines such as computer engineering, software engineering and information systems. The major sub fields of computer science include the traditional study of computer architecture, programming languages, and software development. One thing to start with learning about computer science is computer programming or coding. Let's talk about that. Computer programs are collections of instructions that tell a computer how to interact with the user, the computer hardware and process data. The first programmable computers required the programmers to write explicit instructions to directly manipulate the hardware of the computer. This “machine language " was very tedious to write by hand since even simple tasks such as printing some output on the screen require 10 or 20 machine language commands. So, computer programming in simple words, is the process of designing and writing programs for computers. Doing this includes a variety of tasks and techniques that are unique. You can also think of programming as a way to talk to the computer. The computers don't understand English, they have a totally different language. They only understand Binary code. The binary language is very simple mainly because it only has 2 symbols- 0 and 1. You can start coding by using JavaScript, Python and C++. From my experience, these platforms are amazing to use if you are just getting started! So now that you know what computer science is, let's talk about how it can impact the world. Computer science is one of the fastest growing career fields in modern history. Going back only a few decades to the late 1950s and early 1960s, it has become one of the leading industries in the world today, and it still is growing. By 2028, computer science jobs will be one of the fastest-growing professions in the economy. I mean it makes sense- computers are slowly getting advanced as well technology. More and more people will have to learn computer science in the future. Programming jobs will also be more specialized as computer science is more advanced. As it advances, many jobs that are done by humans, will be replaced by computers as artificial intelligence becomes smarter. The only jobs for humans would be programmers. They still have to create the websites and apps for the AI. In conclusion many jobs into the future will require computer programming. Skills for software engineering will dramatically change. So, in the future computer science will be very important in the world and more specialized in the coming years as technology advances.
