T.R. Doongaji hails from Nagpur, the place where Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata started his first venture, Empress Mills, in 1877. When he was around six years old, Doongaji's cousin would take him to the fire temple where, before entering, he would ask him to touch his head to a bust of “the founder” placed on a pedestal. “I did what he asked me to,” says Doongaji. “Today, I realise that my entire identity is this name.” A J.N. Tata scholar, he spent 52 years (42 in executive capacity) with Tata Group and was managing director in three group companies.A few years ago, some politicians in Nagpur wanted to rename the convocation hall of Nagpur University, the J.N. Tata Hall, to a local leader’s name. A friend from Nagpur called Doongaji, asking if he knew about it. Doongaji dug into the Tata Central Archives to see how the hall was given the name. “We found that the Empress Mills Nagpur had contributed to the funding of the hall, and we had the complete record. We recently won that case in the High Court. I will not allow anybody doing anything with Tata’s name or property,” says the proud Parsi.

History of Microsoft Azure
Microsoft has developed its own cloud computing platform that allows people to use computing resources over the internet and pay for them the same way people pay for utilities. The history of this particular platform begins all the way back to the year 2005. In that year, Microsoft took over Grove Networks. For those who were not around back in the mid-2000s or those who were around but just did not care about tech giants back then, Groove Networks was a software company based in Beverly, Massachusetts that mostly focused on creating productivity software to allow multiple users to work on computer files at the same time. It was bought by Microsoft for $120 million US Dollars and Bill Gates, the CEO of Microsoft at the time, made the founder of Grooves one of the 3 chief technology officers of Microsoft to help with the company's attempts at innovation. This CTO, Ray Ozzie, began to spend approximately three years working on a project for a cloud operating system with other developers at Microsoft before announcing their new platform on October 2008 . This platform was called the Windows Azure Platform and it was announced to a massive crowed at the Professional Developers Conference in Los Angeles, California.

Cloud computing is pretty much all over the news and being mentioned by practically every business that has to work with networking & computing. However, most people have no clue what cloud computing is or why it is treated as so important to various industries. Well, there is a very short definition that is provided by technical writer Wesley Chai: "Cloud computing is a general term for anything that involves delivering hosted services over the internet". Over the internet, you can get data storage, computing power, networking, and analytics from a company that can host all of the computing infrastructure for you. The cloud symbol being used to represent computing has been a thing since the year 1977 when a cloud symbol was used to represent networking of computers for ARPANET (the first wide-area packet-switched network and one of the first computer networks to implement the TCP/IP protocol suite of communication protocols). In this case, the cloud was used as a metaphor for the Internet and the cloud-symbol was used to show a network of electronic devices communicating with one another. The term cloud was officially used to refer to platforms for distributed computing (computing where a software system is shared among multiple computers) as early as 1993 when Apple and AT&T used it to describe Telescript technologies. When Augusta Savage arrived in New York at the height of the Harlem Renaissance, she only had a few dollars in her pocket. Expanding the People’s Internet in Hunts Point.
The Point Community Development Corporation is a non-profit organization in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx. Founded in 1994, The Point CDC has been “committed to youth development and the cultural and economic revitalization of Hunts Point”. The organization’s message this summer is that everyone in the community should have access to the internet. Virtual learning this past school year showed us how many families did not have a laptop, much less internet service.
