MY NARCISSIST HUSBAND
# 01
SIZWE
Going to work and working for another person is something I don't actually like, but hey it pays the bill. I am financially well off, but it's not enough to start my own business. But there is something promising. I just need a few more investors and everything will be set.
I work for a corporate company, my boss has left his company for his son. He's actually doing a great job. I was recently promoted, and that means more money.
I pass by the receptionist to see if I have any messages before I could go to my office.
"You don't have any messages sir", she says.
I walk away and take the lift. My office is on the third floor. I arrive and it was neat as usual. I don't like a messy place, I'm a neat freak I know.
I sit down and start doing my work.

By 16h30pm it was my time to knock off. I signed out and drove to my friend's house. He lives far away from my house. He said he prefers the township, that the suburbs are too much for him. He has a small gathering, to celebrate his promotion. He's a doctor, so he was promoted as head surgeon at the hospital.
Arriving, and there were many cars in the yard. The others must be here too.
I head inside and I see him first.
Sbusiso:My man...
We Bro hug.
Sizwe:Dude, I'm so happy for you.
Sibusiso:Now you can call me head surgeon.
We laugh a bit. Sbu is married, unlike me. He has a wife and one kid. They are a happy family.
Sbusiso:Come and meet everyone.
I follow him and he introduced me to his colleagues. Well they seemed like great people. The party went on for hours.
Sbusiso:Amanda is coming here.
Sizwe:Who is Amanda?
Sbusiso:A neighbor actually. She says she heard the noise so she's coming here.
Sizwe:Okay.
A few moments later, a lady walked in which I assume is the Amanda he is talking about. She's okay.
She came towards us laughing and she hugged Sibusiso.
Amanda:How can you not invite me to a party?
Sibusiso:I thought you were with that boyfriend of yours.
Amanda:We are not cohabiting. I have work remember.
Sibusiso:Sorry.
She looked at me, she has beautiful eyes. And dark skinned..
Amanda:Hi, I'm Amanda.
Sizwe:I'm Sizwe.
She shook my hand.
Amanda:Where are the drinks?
She asked as she walked away. I looked at her until she disappeared.
Sibusiso:No.
Sizwe:No what?
Sibusiso:I see the way you are looking at her. You want her.
Sizwe:I just met her. Why would I want someone I just met?
Sibusiso:You're not good for her ndoda. She's like a little sister to me, please don't disturb her peace. She's been through a lot.
Sizwe:We have all been through a lot.
Sibusiso:Sizwe don't do this. You will hurt this girl. I know you, you have hurt every girl you dated.
Sizwe:It's because I hadn't found the right one. I need someone who will complete me. Someone whom I will see myself in.
He looked at me and shook his head.
Sibusiso:I won't reprimand an old man.
He left me. I don't care what he says. I'm interested in this Amanda girl. She seems, I don't know, but I would like to explore her.

AMANDA
My name is Amanda Mbatha and I am 28 years old. Sibusiso is my neighbor, he's loved in the neighborhood. We call him Doc, because he's a doctor. It's unusual for a person who has made it in life to live in the township, but he says he like it that way.
I heard noises when I was at home and I knew he was having a party. I called him and told him I was coming over. His rich friends are all here. I met one, Sizwe. He screams and smells expensive. Even the way he talked.
But hey, I'm here for a good time.
I first went to greet Nozipho, Sibusiso's wife.
She was in the other room with her child. She is such a anti-social person.
After greeting her, I went to join the others. I opened a bottle of savanna and poured it into a glass before drinking it.
"You drink?", asked a voice behind me.
I looked back and it was Sizwe. Mhh I don't know what to think about him. I can't read his expression because it's just plain. But he's handsome.
Amanda:Just one bottle.
I replied. He was also carrying a glass.
Amanda:What are you drinking?
Sizwe:Whisky.
Amanda:Oh.
He moved toward me. He was so close that I was unable to even breath.
Sizwe:You know, it is said that a woman shouldn't drink.
Amanda:That was the ancient times. Siyaphuza thina(We drink).
Sizwe:If you were mine, you would not even be craving for alcohol.
Amanda:Good thing I'm not yours then.
I swallowed and looked at his lips. They looked so yummy.
He noticed I was looking at his lips and he chuckled.
Sizwe:It was nice to meet you Amanda. I have a feeling, this isn't the last we are seeing of each other.
He walked away and I breathed normally. I definitely need to go back home. That was awkward. I have a boyfriend, and I almost kissed another man. I almost got tempted.
I put the glass on the table and rushed out of the house.
I went back home and they were still awake.
Mom:You're back already?
Amanda:Yeah, Sibusiso said the party is over.
Mom:Okay. Eyy I'm really proud of that boy. He's an example to all of you around here. You should be motivated by him.
Okay I should go before she starts lecturing me. Well, I never went to University nor college. Funds weren't there.
I do have a job though, I work at a university as a cleaner. Not a big job, but hey we can't be choosers. At least I get paid and I can take care of myself.
I have two sisters( Fikile and Nokwazi) and one brother(Vusi).
My brother doesn't live with us, he relocated to another province for greener pastures. He's married. His wife is amazing. He's 35.
Fikile is 37, and she still lives here at home. She has one child. With a deadbeat baby daddy. She works at those insurance companies as a sales person..
Nokwazi is 17, she's still in school, and she has a bright future ahead of her.

SIZWE
The party was over and I drove back to my house.
It was nice to be around people for once. I'm happy for Sibusiso. He deserves that promotion. He's very passionate when it comes to his job.
The first thing that I did was to take a shower.
After that, I wrapped a towel around my waist and went to my room.
I sighed as a wave of sadness hit me.
I have friends, I have a job, I have everything I ever wanted in life. But there's just something missing. And I think I have found
