ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

When we talk about the any sport whether it is cricket, football, basketball or any other game the one thing which makes it even more interesting more intense or more competitive is the Cups or the count of trophies any team has and the count of the trophies directly depends on the team and it's players.

Here we are discussing about the Cricket World Cup 2023 that is happening this year in India. A total of about 10 teams is going to be participating in this globally recognized event after qualifying by passing multiple criteria's. India being a host country is automatically qualified but even if they are not the host they are still one of the main contenders of winning the World Cup alongside Pakistan, Australia, England, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh followed by some other teams. Australia has the most decorative cabinet as compared to any other team as they have won this prestigious award 5 times ( 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2015). While India ( Hosts ) and West Indies have won it twice followed by a single time World Cup Champions like Pakistan (1992) Sri Lanka (1996) and England (2019).

England are the most recent champions of this biggest award in cricket while the New Zealand side wouldn't able to cross that line even a single time (Runners Up in 2015 and in 2019). This year every team will tie their laces and will put their best efforts to put on a good show so that their people can also say that the trophy is coming home and the teams participating in this contest could only get chance after every four years.

The Venues in this World Cup are going to be around in 13 different cities spreading all over India which includes Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Mohali, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Pune, Kanpur, Rajkot, Guwahati (Assam).

India has one of the greatest fan following of cricket in the WorldCup alongside Pakistan, Australia, England and some other countries. The World Cup will be played between October and November 2023. A total of about 48 matches would be played by the teams in this edition of the World Cup. The winner of this WorldCup will get $ 4,000,000 followed by the runner up of about $ 2,000,00. Apart from the money the team winning the World Cup also gets the global recognition.

The Country which hosts these types of World Cup also has to invests in these ( like proper infrastructure which includes hotels, grounds and other facilities. ICC would be earning a whooping amount of about USD 533.29 Million just from the broadcasting rights. This is one of many reasons of investing in these types of events. Just like the 2022 Qatar World Cup which finished few days ago through that event Qatar not only got all their money the had invested but also earned a lot of profit. Qatar has earned almost $1Bn more than the previous World Cup that happened previously.

It's a dream for every played to win these World Cups because it can also be the last World Cup of many of the master of this game like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, David Warner, Kane Williamson, Aaron Finch (The players that are mentioned here haven't announced any such thing this is just and assumption). Every team has try planning as more ODI's this year as they can so that they can prepare there selves for this format. Joe Root (Current England Player) is participating in the IPL (Indian Premiere League) just for gaining some experience so that he can help his team go over the line again.

At the Start of this year many people assumed that this format (ODI) has lost it's charm after the introduction of shorter format like (T20's and T10's) but these teams have proved it wrong. Till today almost every team has played a single ODI series and they have made sure that there fans could not get bored of this format. India has played a series with Bangladesh and Pakistan has played a series with New Zealand.

I as a Pakistani would love to watch Pakistan lifting this trophy likewise every other person whose country is participating. Apart from winning or losing I hope that this World Cup should have matches like last ball thrillers and at last wishing all the teams very Best Of Luck.
