This is my personal story. Something that happened to me some years ago in my village.

I lived in a small village with my family. It was said that the village was built by my great grandfather so the village was named after him. The village is named Norfegalia( meaning is their anything better than this ).

As time goes by, different people from other villages comes to Norfegalia, because the village was known for its ancient farming practices. This makes the village more popular than ever. Through this, Norfegalia has developed a lot. It has so many facilities such as clinics, churches, schools and so on. Because of development of the village, we had taped water for our consumption and dam for our farming activities.

But as time progressed, things began to change. Crime rates began to rise.

I had a friend call Joyce. She was a very pretty and respectful lady. In fact everyone in the village loved her including my parents. Joyce and I always do things together, we go to market together, go to the same church, choir practice and we also attended the same school.

One day that was Saturday evening, l had a call from Joyce around 6 o’clock pm telling me about her plans of attending her friends birthday party. I couldn’t believe it because Joyce doesn’t go out. She’s introvert person. She doesn’t fancy parties and clubs. I thought about it but couldn’t figure it out so I asked her when exactly will the party start and she said 9 o’clock pm. I quickly resisted because I knew my parents would never allow me because it will be late. I told her about my intentions of not going with her but she insisted. I don’t know what to do so she came up with a plan. The plan is to deceive my parents that I’m going to church service. Hmm I was afraid because I’m not a fan of that kind of behavior. But she promised me it’s will go on well as planned. She also promised to pass by my house so we can go together. But later in the night, she texted me saying she will not be able to pass by my place again. I asked her of the reason but she couldn’t answer me.

I got ready around 8:30 pm. I was about to leave before I remembered that I couldn’t talk to my mom about anything. So I went to my moms room and she was surprised to see me dressed up. I lied to my mom about me going to church program. In fact I wore church attire and kept my party outfit in my hand bag. After taking to my mom, she decided to search my bag because she was surprised. I knew she would catch me in the process so I refused but she also insisted.

Because I’ve never hide anything like that from from my mom before so I ended up explaining everything to her about the birthday party but she refused to let me go.

At that point too, Joyce started calling me. I got annoyed with my mom and left her room. I went outside and upon reaching the gate, I saw a man in a white gown. I greeted him but he didn’t answer but rather told me to listen to my mom and go back home because it’s not yet my time.

I got scared and ran back home. I saw my mom standing at the door and she asked me who I was talking to. This made me confused so she took me inside. I told her what happened to me at the gate. I couldn’t sleep that night so I came to sleep beside my mom.

The following day, that was Sunday morning Joyce mother called me and asked if Joyce was with me but I told her she was not with me. She called other friends of Joyce but couldn’t get any response. She then reported the incident to the police. The police then searched the entire village but couldn’t find Joyce.

But fortunately on Monday, they found Joyce coups in the village dam. Upon examination, they noticed that she was stabbed by someone.

This made me frightened. I asked myself what of if I couldn’t listen to my mom and the man in the white gown , I would also be dead.
