Hey there! So, you know how we all love a good kitchen gadget, right?
Well, at CES 2024, the tech world is taking our kitchens to the next level with AI and robots that can whip up a meal or mix a drink without us lifting a finger. It’s like having a personal chef, but way cooler!
At this year’s CES, a multi-day tech extravaganza hosted by the Consumer Technology Association, there were some seriously impressive innovations on display. We’re talking cocktail-mixing and ice cream-making machines that work like a Keurig, and even a robot barista that moves just like a human making a vanilla latte.
Let me give you the lowdown on some of the coolest tech that’s changing how we prep, cook, and serve our food:
First up, GE Appliances has come up with a ‘No Smoke’ indoor smoker. It’s about the size of a toaster oven or microwave, but this bad boy can fit a full brisket cut in half, 40 chicken wings, or three racks of ribs. It uses wood pellets for that smokey flavor, but the tech traps the smoke inside, making it ideal for city dwellers in high-rise apartments.
Next, we’ve got the NeoSear, a new smart grill from Brisk It. This grill uses generative AI tech to make barbecuing a breeze. You can ask it anything from what seasoning to add for spicy chicken skewers to how to sear a medium-rare steak. Once you’ve got your recipe and prepped your food, the grill’s InnoGrill AI 2.0 tech takes over the cooking. It’s not available yet, but it’s expected to retail for around $2,000.
Now, who doesn’t love ice cream? With tech startup ColdSnap’s no-clean ice cream machine, you can have your favorite frozen treat ready in just two minutes. It’s like a Keurig for ice cream. Choose your flavor, pop the pod in the machine, and voila! It can also make frozen lattes, boozy ice cream treats, and protein shakes.
Tech startup Chef AI is also shaking things up with a ‘real one-touch’ air fryer. Unlike your current air fryer, this one doesn’t need any messing with settings. Just put your food in, hit Start, and the AI does the rest. It’s set to be available in the U.S. in September for $250.
Ever wanted your own personal bartender? Bartesian’s cocktail-mixing appliance has got you covered. The latest model, the Premier, can hold up to four different types of spirits and retails for $369. Just choose from 60 recipes on the touch screen, drop a cocktail capsule into the machine, and you’ve got a premium cocktail over ice in seconds.
If you’re more of a beer person, iGulu’s new automated brewing machine lets you brew your own beer. Just add a pre-mixed recipe and water to the machine’s keg, scan the sticker that comes with the beer mix, and in nine to 13 days, you’ll have a gallon of DIY beer.
Last but not least, Artly Coffee’s barista bot is designed to move just like a human barista. It’s all about preserving the craft of fine coffee, but with a high-tech twist.
Alec Roig, a hardware developer for the Seattle-based tech startup, Artly Coffee, shared some really cool insights about their mission. They’re all about keeping the craft of fine coffee alive, but with a techy twist.
Artly Coffee is now brewing up a storm at 10 locations across the Pacific Northwest and even in the Big Apple, New York City. But here’s the kicker: their resident barista isn’t just any barista. This coffee maestro, who’s the genius behind all of Artly’s coffee recipes, was decked out with motion sensors that captured his every move as he whipped up each recipe.
From packing the coffee grounds into the filter to frothing the milk and pouring latte art, every step was recorded. It’s like they’ve bottled up the essence of a skilled barista into their bot. So, next time you’re sipping on a cup of joe made by Artly Coffee’s barista bot, remember there’s a whole lot of craft (and some cool tech) in that cup! ☕
So, there you have it. The future of cooking is here, and it’s looking pretty tasty!
