Armin Finds Out Eren Yeager is Still Alive Inside the Tree? Attack on Titan: The New Season - Attack on Humans!

Let me paint this: The unimaginable destruction is silent, the smoke of battle has cleared, and the world of Attack on Titan has fallen into an odd stalemate. Armin, burdened with the memories of unimaginable losses and the weight of humanity's survival, stumbles upon a revelation that could shake the very fabric of all he believes in: Eren Yeager, the friend, the enemy, and the legend, is truly not gone. What if Eren is alive, cocooned inside that mysterious tree where his final transformation took place?

Now, let's break it down. Since the time of the Titans, the tree was always a symbol of mystery and genesis. Its origins were closely linked to the lore of the Founding Titan. What if instead of being a relic of a battlefield, this tree is some sort of slumbering idol that preserves the life essence of Eren? For Armin, this twist would be more than just a surprise-it would be a revelation.

The Emotional Avalanche

guilt, anger, relief, and an insatiable curiosity. Armin would question every decision he’d made, every sacrifice, every tear shed. Did they fight in vain? Did humanity misinterpret Eren’s true intentions?

And let's not forget Mikasa. How would she react? Her love for Eren was always complicated—a mix of loyalty, frustration, and an unspoken bond. If Armin should tell that to her, everything might fall apart, or the dynamic Trio could restore its unity.

The Tree as a Living Paradox

This tree… it's not just any tree. It is huge, fantastic and animates with a power that is palpable. And Armin steps towards it, at the base of a tremendous root, and feels a weak glow, a different kind of beat. What if the tree works as a chrysalis, a threshold between the worlds? Maybe the weight of the Founding Titan went beyond the limitation of physical death, listing the soul of Eren into the same world, which he wished to demolish and reconstruct.

Here's the kicker: if Eren is alive, what state is he in? Is he the same vengeful, determined Eren who began the Rumbling? Or has he transformed, not just physically but ideologically? In doing so, it opens the mind into an infinite train of philosophical questions pertaining to identity, redemption, and the vicious cycle of war.

Attack on Humans?

What if Erens awakens, is it too much to ask him to shift his enmity from titans to humans as well? Think about it. His ideal of freedom often clashed with the general ideals of humankind. Maybe inside this trunk, he developed his point further, and humanity is the new obstacle for him to reach absolute freedom. This can be used to create a whole new chaos in Armin's and Mikasa's personal and worst challenge that ever happened to them.

Or… maybe Eren's reincarnation is an opportunity for forgiveness. Perhaps he would lead humanity to unite them, harnessing the powers of the Founding Titan to eradicate discrimination and hate. That is the tiniest shred of hope, but in Attack on Titan, hope tends to be the most hazardous blade.

Why It Matters

Conceptually, such a scenario is not about plot twists and thrillers, etc.; instead, it is a critique of humanity. Can we really let go of the past? Can we forgive those who hurt us, despite their actions having left tragic marks on the world? For Armin, this would be the ultimate test of his beliefs. He has always believed in the possibility of peace, in humanity's capacity for change. Finding Eren alive could reinforce his belief or destroy it all the way.

A Story That Never Ends

His saga, like the tree, is powerfully embedded in the souls of the survivors.

So, what do you think? If you were in Armin's shoes, standing before that tree, knowing your best friend and greatest enemy might still be alive… what would you do?

Huh? If I remember correctly, Eren was totally tearing apart on the inside throughout the rumbling. And it was explained how he had the power to complete the rumbling by taking away everyone's powers, but he wanted his friends to stop him and knew they could. From Eren breaking down in front of Armin and crying about how he'd done such a terrible thing and would definitely go to hell for it, to how he had wanted Mikasa to tell him her true feelings that night in which case they would have run off together and he'd live out the rest of his life in peace and solitude with her, to how he ran away those years trying to find an alternative solution and eventually having to harden his heart and hide his emotions when he found the rumbling as his only path (wether or not it actually was), I think if Eren could handle the guilt of being alive after everything, I'm pretty sure the last thing he'd be thinking about it starting another freedom war or any kind of violence. Probably about how the loved ones he sacrificed the world for are living freely and happily and trying to take comfort in that. If Eren really was a heartless, vengeful freedom fighter in his villain arc as you describe him, this would be really cool to imagine. Or maybe you also made up that part to create this fictional theory 🤷 (In which case, this comment is kinda a waste of time except maybe letting people who don't really know AOT know a bit more about Eren real character I guess). Ah well, whatever. Love the narration. Just felt like clearing this up a bit
