3. Metric for system usability:

A quick and efficient method for assessing the usability of your designs is the System Usability Scale (SUS). SUS was used to identify a number of features of the product, including

Effectiveness: Can users actually accomplish their objectives?

Experience: Was the overall experience satisfactory?

4. Time spent on the assignment:

Time on task gauges how long it takes a user to do a task. The final KPI is typically expressed as the average time spent on a task. The user experience is better the faster the processing is completed.

All you need is a timer to track your time spent on each task! As soon as the user starts working on the task you've given them, start timing them; after they finish, stop timing them.

Count the number of mouse clicks or taps you make on the navigation bar and then compare that to the number of times you type a search term into the search box to see how often you use navigation versus search.
