You need not to worry about the extra weight around your waist, the way you can't help but snort when you laugh, the way you are so aware of your lack of knowledge about the world in the way everyone else seems to know. In this place, there is no black or white- no right or wrong, in this place it is gray- it is nuanced- it is complicated.
You are welcome in this place. In this place, you do not need to wear the kind of masculinity that has burned your softness out, in this place you do not need to be the kind of woman that your mother has raised you to be, that the world has taught you to be. In this place, you do not need to make sense in the ways that don't make sense to you. In this place, you don't tumble in love, in this place, you rise in love. In this place, you get to lay down all the personalities that you have developed to survive this world. In this place, you do not need to be perfect- to be loved.
You are welcome in this place. In this place, you get to caress your anxiety, because you know it. In this place, you face the voices in your head because they are yours. In this place you get to cry- you get to let out all that your heart has been holding onto. In this place, you make room for your insecurities- because they are yours- but they're also not yours forever. In this place, you breathe in the ways that your heart needs.
You are welcome in this place. In this place, you are beautiful, you are kind, you are understanding, you are warm - in this place, you are curious, you are a wonder. In this place, you are also angry, you are also forgetful, you are also chaotic, you are also scared, you are also lonely, you are also needy, you are also selfish. My God, my God- In this place, you know God in ways you were meant to know God. In this place, you are Human. You are you- you are you- you are you. In this place, you are perfectly you.

November 27th, 2023, I wiped my grandmother's face with a warm towel- as she coughed her last breath up. She'd been in a coma for about two days- but I was sure she was coming back. She didn't come back in the ways I was hoping she would- but she also never left, in the ways that I didn't know that I needed. This is my father's mother. Cecile Mukarumongi. "Do It Again" the track that would ultimately open the Beach Boys final album on Capitol Records which was released on February 10th 1969 had originally been released as a single in August of 1968. The track was the first of many post-Pet Sounds era throwbacks to the early Beach Boys sound which would become continually more cliched and eventually lead the Beach Boys to the level of self-parody they would eventually succumb to in the 1980s while their closest contemporaries The Beatles nearing the end of their run in 1969 would go on to be viewed as the most influential band of all time. However, the song itself is not bad on its surface, and it opens with a futuristic sounding (for 1969) drumbeat captured by then-Beach Boys engineer Stephen Desper using tape delays on the drums performed by Dennis Wilson and John Guerin. The song has been re-recorded numerous times over the years on various Beach Boys-related projects most notably the 2011 re-recording at Capitol studios featuring the five surviving Beach Boys at the time backed instrumentally by various members of both the Brian Wilson Band and Mike Loves touring "Beach Boys" to promote the then upcoming Beach Boys 50th Anniversary reunion tour in 2012. The hammering and power drill sound at the end of the song was an excerpt from a track called "Workshop" that was to be a part of the uncompleted "SMiLE" album.
