Writing is my Freedom
What Makes Writing So Special?
What makes a writer? What makes someone push everything to the absolute limit, losing all sense of reality and becoming totally immersed in the written word? What makes this such a gift?
It is the drive to inspire, the passion that lives inside, the forces of nature that put pen to paper and make the ordinary seem anything but. By the sheer act of writing, I have been uplifted, freed from the chains that bind me to my every day existence.
Here, I can create anything, do anything, be anything. Here, dreams can become realities. When I am alone with my thoughts, alone with my writing, alone with pen and paper or a computer and a blank page to type on, I feel the most beautiful. I feel the most beautiful when I am writing.
I feel the most beautiful when I am writing about my pain, my suffering, my struggles, because I know when I write, it heals me. The pain lessens every time I tell my story again; I start understand myself a little bit more, and I start to remember the life I had before, the things I blocked out from memory but have weakened my heart.
My heart yearns to help others find their voices, too. We all have beautiful stories that need to be told. Each of our stories is unique, and different, and it wouldn't be such an awe inspiring planet if were all the same and if we were all good at the same things. Everyone, everyone on this planet, I think, has the power to do something great. That's what I love about life so much.
Writing is my freedom, my escape, my romance, my best friend. Writing is everything. My self expression is the key to my heart. Learning to love myself and know myself has been the most important journey that I've been on.
To be a writer is to be a beautiful smudge of ink across paper that makes you feel things, more things than one soul could even imagine, but here you are, emptying your soul onto the page. That's the way it was always meant to be.
