Hey there, my name is Lizzy and I am an author. I have been writing stories for as long as I can remember. Writing for me began as an escape from my reality. I grew up in an abusive and traumatizing environment. I was suppressed and mute until I broke away in my teens.

I moved countries and started again. It was one of the hardest things that I have ever done but it was also the only option that I had left, if I wanted to survive. I spent years on the brink of poverty, working and putting myself through college.

When I finally got my hard-earned degree, I thought things would just work out. How wrong was I…

When does life just fall into place? (Not often, that's for sure).

I carried on writing and I am now a guest author for the Complex PTSD Foundation, a mental health organization, which help survivors of trauma and abuse.

There are so many people who suffer like I did growing up, and even more who suffer abuse as adults. There are veterans returning home from war zones around the world and feel lost.

So many of us are struggling in the aftermath of trauma.

I write for them.

I write for all people who feel unheard so that the world becomes more aware of the struggles a trauma survivor faces every day.

After the Covid pandemic, I published my personal memoir: The Sex-Offender's Daughter, which is about my childhood. It's raw and unfiltered about growing up in a world of sex-offenders and murderers. Every word is mine.

My next book is about what happens after trauma because it follows a survivor for decades after, like a shadow that you cannot shake.

I published a second memoir called: Living with Complex PTSD. It's a book about life after trauma and how trauma triggers affect so much of daily living for a survivor.

My passion for writing didn't stop there.

I listen to everyone around me, and I hear their stories. Most of them heartbreaking. This suffering after trauma inspired me to start a fiction series set in a small coastal town in North Carolina.

The Cedar's Port series began as an experiment to give a trauma survivor a glimpse at a new life. A second chance.

My first novel: Saving Joshua is about Jennifer who is married to an abusive husband. Domestic violence is hard to break away from, but Jennifer escapes with her young son, Joshua and starts again. Her ex-husband is hot on their heels to get them back as she slowly starts living her life again.

My second novel in the Cedar's Port series is called Protecting Sarah and follows on from Saving Joshua. In this novel, the town is reeling from a shocking arson attempt by a renown lawyer from Ohio.

A single mom, Sarah, and her kids are caught in a house fire, which is front page news. A killer stalker is drawn to Cedar's Port and has his eye on Sarah who just want to be left alone from the media.

In my third novel, Guarding Noah, a young female intern doctor is mistaken for a cartel member, and her ordeal changes her life forever. She has to protect her son, Noah, from the cartel and then a tropical storm hits Cedar's Port, turning everything into turmoil.

My fourth novel in the Cedar's Port series is called Bringing Back Faith. A young woman is left for dead on a San Diego beach and is found by Sam - a Navy veteran. He saves her life, but she doesn't remember anything before the accident.

It becomes apparent that someone still wants Faith dead. Sam ends up going on a road trip across the continent to save her. On the journey, they both discover something neither of them had envisaged.

My current novel, Restoring Hope, is the fifth in the series. It's due in spring 2026. I have been writing this manuscript during an MFA degree in Creative Writing.

Restoring Hope is about the veteran community in Cedar's Port who are grieving the loss of one of their own. A Navy Admiral has been killed in a plane crash and the investigators suspect sabotage. At the same time, a young woman, Hope, comes to town to find out about her long lost relative and take over his estate. The killer is still in the wind and his new target is Hope.
