The world is without a doubt a beautiful place. Some of her beauty is associated to human invention while others are natural wonders such as Mountains, falls, rivers, seas, etc. All these make the world an amazing place to live and explore.

Natural and man-made wonders are vital when it comes to identifying a place. It’s very difficult for someone to forget a place if they came across an epic landmark. That’s because they are the only features that can give you the real sense of a place whether it’s your motherland or you’re just visiting.

Here are some of these most intriguing historic sites in the universe.

1. Eiffel Tower

Located in Paris, Eiffel Tower is among the most frequented monuments in the world. The Tower is named after the engineer behind its construction, Gustavo Eiffel. It was constructed to celebrate the 100th year anniversary of the French Revolution back in 1889 and since then, it has been a sort after tourist attraction site in Paris.

If crowded places are not your favourite when tripping to attraction sites, then you may want to plan your visit during the low season. The peak season is usually from late June to early September. This is the time most tourists from different parts of the world flock to this manmade wonder. Even though it will cost you to visit this monument, it is affordable to visit the second level of the tower. You can also save more if you’re fit to walk almost 700 stairs up instead of using the elevator. So, you don’t have a financial reason not to visit this magical attraction during your trip in Paris.

2. Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal is a gorgeous white marble mausoleum built in 1648 as a testament to love by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. The emperor commissioned it to house the tomb of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal in 1631. It also later became the resting place for Shah Jahan himself. Meaning, the two lovebirds are still together just like the way they used to when alive. As a result, the Taj Mahal is often viewed as a symbol of true love by most people to this day.

Today, this artistic masterpiece is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as it is among the Seven Wonders of the universe. It is the most visited attraction in the country as people from different parts of the world flock to this place each year just to explore its beauty.

Another admirable feature about this landmark is how its colour keeps changing throughout the day. It shows varied shades as the sun rises and sets down the horizon. That is not all, there are numerous replicas of this landmarks around the world but it will shock you to know that none of them has defeated its uniqueness.

3. Great Wall of China

Apart from the Great Wall of China being the largest man-made project in the world, there are many reasons why you would love to explore this magical wall. The wall is 21196.18km stretching from the east seaside to the west desert in the northern China.

Many people who’ve heard about the Great Wall of China visualize it as a single structured wall but it isn’t. The Great Wall of China is actually a unique wall that include barracks, garrison stations, beacon towers and barriers. All these are merged to form this great wall people travel from far and wide just to see.

4. Pyramids of Giza

The Pyramids of Giza were built by the Pharaohs of the Old Kingdom because they believed they were direct descendants of the Ra, the Sun God. They therefore built the pyramids with corners pointing the Temple of Ra at Heliopolis.

To date, it is still a wonder how the builders managed to lift six million tons of brick with no technology. However, there is one popularly accepted theory which suggests that the ancient Egyptians used limestone chipping or ramps from mud brick to lift the heavy and massive stone blocks.

Although the Pyramids have shrunk over time, there are still magical enough to include them in your itinerary when exploring Egypt. Due to the harsh weather conditions at the desert, there is a noticeable decrease in the pyramids’ height among other outer beauties. Regardless, the Pyramids of Giza remain great attraction landmarks in the world.
