INTRODUCTION
Prompted: #6 has come to an end. It doesn't seem like 6 months since I began these challenges, but here we are.
You can read about the rules, the prompt, etc. for this challenge right HERE.
For Prompted: #6, I switched things up a lot, veering into non-fiction prose for the first time. As the cover image implies, these prompts are meant to challenge writers. So, I made this one a bit tougher and asked entrants to look outward and write about someone else's work.
Objectively speaking, Prompted: #6 was a flop. When the closing whistle blew, only 2 entries had been submitted. Not at all what I'd hoped for, but admittedly, it cut down on the judging time.
THE WINNERS
Without further adieu, here is the Prompted: #6 Winner's Circle:
1st Place: $50.00 - "When Contradicting Images Reveal More than Logic" by Mackenzie Davis
2nd Place: $20.00 - "British Dystopia" by Matthew Fromm
[3rd Place: $10.00 - not awarded due to lack of entrants]
Congratulations to you both and thank you for rising to the challenge!
CONCLUSION
With the conclusion of Prompted: #6, these monthly Writer's Challenges will be going on an indefinite hiatus. When, or in what form, they will return is up in the air for now, but I think it's time to take a break for a while.
To those who participated in these challenges, I offer another hearty "thank you". I also appreciate the support of all of those who have read, liked, and shared these challenges and, importantly, supported the work of the many talented entrants.
The quality of the writing generated from these prompts has been outstanding. I've been pleasantly surprised, each time, at both the craft and creativity that has been on display.
Until next time, happy writing!
