Welcome to Tales From Elsewhere!
Your daily dose of legends, stories, and curiosities about our amazing world

Do you ever wonder why are people interested in stuff? I personally believe it's a combination of three aspects.
Firstly, as humans, we're a naturally curious species. We are hungry for knowledge and certainty of what we see.
It's that same hunger that makes you slow down when you're driving in the highway and see an accident by the side of the road to try and figure out what happened.
That hunger that makes you go down the rabbit hole, clicking hyperlink after hyperlink on Wikipedia and ending up reading about the French Revolution when you were originally looking for classic Italian music.
Secondly, I also believe there are certain things that are universally intersting.
Things like how the universe works or the stories about the lives of incredible people.
That is why we all watch movies or read books, and why we all seek a meaning for our lives. We might look for different things in these stories and meanings, but the essence of our quest is the same.
But there are also things that, while not universally appealing, some of us may find fascinating in a particular, granular way. This the realm of passion.
Some people may have a passion for sports but couldn't care less about art. Others may be amazed by art but not really interested in science, and so on. The loop is literally infinite.
Why Am I Telling You This?
I've come to learn — from personal experience, not as a storyteller, but as part of the global audience — that the most captivating stories come from those who combine the three aspects I told you about.
I'm talking about stories that:
- Appeal to our inherently human sense of curiosity.
- Are built upon universally interesting aspects of our lives.
- Contain enough particular, specific components to show that they are told with passion.
This is exactly the type of stories that I want to tell you through this account.
You see, my passion are stories themselves. If somebody did something amazing, I want to tell you exactly who, what, where, when, and how they did it.
Every little detail.
Good. We got one down, two to go.
Now, in my own words, I'd have to find a topic — a domain that is universally interesting, and I think that is our world itself.
Think about it. We've lived on this planet for thousands of years. That should provide enough material, right? Enough inspiration for stories about ourselves and the world we've built.
The story of humanity.
It should be interesting. At least I think so. I mean, we're all characters in it after all.
I'm going to show you things so fascinating you'd doubt they ever happened, but they did. Places so beautiful you'd think they are fictional, but they're real.
This is us. This is what we've built. It shouldn't be forgotten. It deserves to be told.
Wait a Minute, Aren't You Missing...?
Yes, I am.
We got the passion factor, and we got the universal factor.
You'll notice that I'm one sense of curiosity short. I'll have to ask you to provide that one.
I want you to bring as much hunger for knowledge as you can. Whenever you come into one of my posts, open the gates and let your curiosity come out.
If you're not in the mood for a story, that's fine. Just save it on your bookmarks and come back later, when the hunger comes back.
I promise you, we will satiate it.
Thanks for reading. I hope to see you soon!
