We Broke Up, But You Still Watch My Stories
You're gone from my life but still camped out in my views - why does that haunt me more than the breakup?

The View That Hurts More Than Silence
We haven’t spoken in months.
You haven’t liked a post. Haven’t texted. Haven’t said my name.
But every single time I post a story - there you are.
Watching.
Not interacting.
Not forgetting.
Just… there.
Modern Hauntings Aren’t Paranormal
There’s something bizarre about being digitally haunted.
You're not in my life, yet somehow you're still in it.
Not as a person - but as a ghost on the viewers list.
Is it curiosity? Nostalgia?
Or just habit?
I don’t know. But it messes with me.
Why Do I Still Care?
It’s not that I want you back.
I’ve deleted the playlist. I’ve packed up the hoodie.
I even stopped checking your page... (mostly).
But when I see your name in that little list,
my heart still pauses - just for a second.
It feels like unfinished business.
Like you're keeping tabs,
without ever reaching out.
And that ambiguity? It’s crueler than silence.
The Passive Presence
You’re not talking to me.
But your watchfulness talks.
It says:
“I still see you.”
“I’m still here.”
“But I’m not coming back.”
And somehow, that’s worse than being forgotten.
We Never Really Let Go, Do We?
Social media makes it easy to not let go.
Easy to linger in someone’s life without commitment.
To observe, but not engage.
But love can’t survive on passive views.
Neither can healing.
So I ask myself:
Is this closure?
Or is it control?
My Story, Not Yours
I’m done performing for you.
I’m done wondering what you think every time I post.
This space is mine now.
To heal.
To laugh.
To rebuild.
And if you’re still watching?
Just know:
This story is no longer about you.
Your Turn:
Have you ever been ghost-watched by an ex?
Still seeing their name pop up, long after the texts stopped?
Let’s talk about it below. Because you’re not the only one trying to heal while someone lingers silently in your story views.
